I'm really having trouble deciding what to do with my rental car.
My new wife and I are not new to dis and have gone to WDW every year for the past five years. However, I have always booked in May because a) at that time my wife wasn't a teacher and b) because I love Orlando and WDW in May (less crowds, good weather, no rain).
But as I stated earlier, my wife now teaches junior high and we are stuck trying to come in August. That means, I am now unprepared for how busy it actually gets and have been reading various posts on disboards for some idea. While we are prepared for the rain and the crowds, I'm most concerned about the driving.
In May, driving around Orlando is no busier than at home, but just how bad is it in August?
Also, I was wondering if someone could help me make a decision. We will have a rental for our week in the timeshare, but once we leave our timeshare we are spending three nights at SSR. Should I keep the car for those days on the resort or just stick to Disney Transportation? I have heard things both ways, but overall the suggestion was to keep the car for convenience. However, if I am going to be frustrated driving in huge lines with a bunch of unfamiliar holiday drivers, I don't think I want to stress myself out. What do you folks think?
