Leaving on Leap Day!! - WDW Trip # 6

So there are officially 15 and 1/2 days left until we leave! The only thing left to pack is our clothes and some of our electronic stuff like iPods and such. I can't believe it's so close!

You are sooooo lucky. I'd give anything to leave all this cold and snow.

So it's the day before Valentines Day and I still don't have anything for Lumar The problem is that I just don't know WHAT to get him

It's not what to get him, it's what to do for him!! No, stop laughing, I'm serious. Make him dinner. Make him a cake. Wear a little nighty. Make some coupons.

BTW, remember his birthday is March 6

So on a more depressing note, I found out that my 14 year old cousin (turning 15 on March 13) was sent home from school early last Friday and ordered to stay home under parental supervision for the next 48 hours because she was threatening suicide. Apparently, high school is much worse now for freshman that it was 10 year ago when I was in 9th grade. Supposedly since she started school in August, her best friend stopped hanging out with her, her other best friend goes to a private school and they don't see each other anymore, and the guy she was dating (who was 18 BTW!!!!) used her for THAT reason and then broke up with her. I tried to defend the guy, saying maybe he realized what he was getting himself into and what the consequences would be if they continued to see each other...but my sister and brother believe that this guy was just a dirt bag. I'm not one to judge without getting the story from the horses' mouth, but either way, it's pretty messed up. I called my aunt and asked if my cousin could come with me and Lumar to Disney, you know to take her mind off of everything, but my aunt said that because of all of this, she hasn't been doing well in her classes and so she doesn't want to take her out of school for 7 days. If it was MY kid, I would be putting their mental health ahead of their school grades (after all, there is always summer school if necessary, right?), but I did what I could. Lumar even offered to pay for her whole trip, but to no avail. I was hoping that she could come because I really feel that it would help her - especially since her birthday is the following week.... but aside from kidnapping her, I don't really have a choice. Hopefully she'll get better soon.

Poor thing. There is so much other crap these kids have to worry about these days. Heck they go to school wondering if this day will be the one someone brings the gun to school. I feel so sorry for teenagers. It would be so nice if all they had to worry about at school was learning. I could have one of the boys penpal her if it would help. Robby LOVES that kind of stuff. He's going through some things right now we are trying to work through, so maybe he can relate.

Thats so nice of you to offer! I'm not sure if my cousin knows that I know about her issues and she is the kind of girl that REALLY embarassed REALLY easily (at her birthday party one year, the entertainer asked her to come up and help out on a demonstration and she cried!). I'm gonna find out who her favorite Disney character is and pick her up some stuff from the World and I think I'll send her a FGM card...

OK so Wednesday night after work (I get out at 7pm, BTW) I went out to the mall to try and find some cool Disney stuff for the The Lumar for V-Day. The Disney Store had NOTHING!!!!! I was SO disappointed! Although I did find that they have new snowglobes, including a new Lion King one, AND they were 50% off but I didn't buy it because I'm stupid and now I'm regretting it because I'm afraid I'm never going to find it again!!!!!!!!

Anywho....

I ended up going to Barnes & Noble (like our favorite store of all time, outside of WDW) and I found a book called the Marvel Vault. Lumar loves comics and he had mentioned this me around Christmas time so I got him that. He loved it and was very happy Ali = gud job

He got me Birnbaum's Official Guide to WDW woohoo: ) and Frommer's Florida 2008 which will come in very handy if/when we decide to move down there or go on a non-Disney trip.... OK like THAT will happen...

He also got me a big stuffed Turtwig (it's one of my favorite Pokemon...YES I play Pokemon! Don't judge me!)

Well, thankfully it's Friday and it looks like it's going to be a slow day. There's a possibility that they will ask us if we want to go home early and I'm debating on whether I should or not. I worked 4 hours of overtime this week but if I leave early, those 4 hours will only be paid at my regular rate, not time & a half. Do I need the money that badly?? I have soo much other stuff to do, I could really use the time at home....... decisions decisions....

We have at least 15 Disney Snow Globes...but I think Lumar has a couple in storage at his mom's house... We love them and we spend so much money on them, it's insane!!

I'm a big fan of the Unofficial Guide.

Had me some fine BBQ chicken yesterday.

I like all of the Disney books - I have the Unofficial Guide, the Official Guide, Walt Disney World Without Kids, The Imagineers Field Guides for Epcot, MK, and AK, both volumes one and two of the Walt Disney World Trivia books and a couple others. They all have practically the same information but I get them anyway. I had to talk myself out of the Passporters Guide today

OK so CT atually got a real snow storm this time - I wokr up at 8:30 this morning to the tune of 5 inches and counting...and guess whose place of employment is STILL open?? Yep mine and Lumar's. Nothing has been plowed yet and my little 4 cyl. TOyota Echo barely made it the 6 miles to work!
