Leaving next Sunday- is it too late to buy shares?

Hi all,

I'm really hoping the answer to this is no!

As we leave next Sunday, is it too late to buy shares? I only want to buy the minimum, so as to receive the discounts in the shops and restaurants. I know we wouldn't get a card in time, but wondered if we could take an email confirmation or something.

Second question- I am going with my sister and our children. Can we buy the shares together and both be named on them, so that we can both benefit from the discounts?

Third question- please can someone talk me through how to buy shares as quickly as possible?!

I am no expert, but will give yo uthe benefit of my experience.

We are off for our 1st visit to DLP on Thursday!

I bought shares last week and have had confirmation from the lovely people at shareholders club that I can collect a confirmation letter from Salon Mickey when I arrive at DLP

So as long as you complete the online form and fax confirmation that you hold shares very quickly they can if you ask them to, do the same.

As for buying shares, I already had an international share account so did it on that. If you search there is a thread that explains how to get a halifax account to trade using.

you don't need to all be shareholders - you can be the shareholder and your sister and all the children can benefit from the discounts - ie if you are having meals together, you give the waiter your shareholders card/letter when you ask for the bill, and the 15% discount comes off the whole bill. In shops, you hand over your shareholders card at the till, and it doesn't matter who is paying for the shopping, if they're with you they get the discount. You as shareholder can also take up to 4 guests in with you at a time to Salon Mickey if they are your family

Whilst it doesn't matter who is paying for the shopping the cardholder needs to be present as they sometimes do spot ID checks. So if you are the cardholder then you can't give it to anyone else to use on trips you are not present.
