Leaving MK for dinner - then returning?

I don't know if I should post this here on the Theme Parks Board, or on the Restaurants Board, or on the Transportation Board - so if it needs to be moved, moderators, feel free!

How long would it take to leave MK and take the boat to WL for dinner at the Whispering Canyon and then get back to the park? If I had a 5:00 PS, could we be back in time for the night parade and fireworks? Has anyone done this?

You would probably get back to the Magic Kingdom around 7-7:30.

I agree. 7-730 would be a sensible time.

5 pm dinner

1 hour to eat

:30 to look around cause at WL there is alot just to look at and dont miss the geyser

And then another 30 min to take the boat back
