Has anyone ever heard of problems with people leaving their luggage in the car (trunk) while parked at a Disney park?
Thanks!

why not? if it's out of sight i don't see why you'd have any more chance of a break in than the other 10000 cars in the lot. i wouldn't leave it in a cartop carrier or the back seat but that's kind of common sense ;)

I have done this pretty much every trip. I rent a car and always take an evening flight home. Since I don't want to be bothered going back to the resort (trying to get as much park time in before I leave), the bags go in the trunk. It has never been an issue.

We did that last may, we went straight to the MK until 12am and then went to our hotel, no problems.

We always do this. About the only thing I would suggest is that if you have anything in the back seat, take a blanket or sheet and cover it all up. We've never had any problems. In fact, one time, I left the back door standing wide open with cell phones and a laptop holder in full view. For four hours. Came back to horrors and thinking the worst with the insurance carrier. No one disturbed anything.

Maybe we were lucky but I wouldn't worry about things.

We've left stuff in the trunk in the park lots and the hotel parking lots. After all, when we take the AutoTrain down to Disney we leave everything in the trunk and give them the keys to the car. All they would have to do is pop the trunk and they could get to everything, but we have never had a problem. I think it is funny that they tell you in the brochure to take anything of value including toll money out of your glove compartment, when they have access to the whole car and all your luggage once you give them the key.

The immediate danger to the contents of the car is *heat.* You could fry an egg on your dashboard on a July day in the Magic Kingdom parking lot! Best not to leave any electronics (laptops, cell phones, PDAs, iPods, Gameboys, cameras) in the car all day -- nor film.
