Ugh! I haven't even packed. This whole H1N1 thing has me so scared that I don't even want to go. My kids haven't had it but they said on the news last night it's spreading like wildfire in our area. We should be able to get our vax tomorrow but ds has a field trip and I was supposed to go on the field trip. The clinic starts the same time as the field trip, and now I'm reading that people were turned away at clinics that opened yesterday about an hour and a half after clinics opened and they still had to wait hours to get their shots. I had thought I'd pull the kids out of school after the field trip but now I think we're better go early. Ds will be thoroughly ticked at me to miss the trip to the pet store. The vax won't protect them completely because we leave in a week and the way it's starting to go around here I'm grateful every morning that they don't wake up with it. To top it off dd has asthma and now two kids have died in Ontario in just days and the articles say they had mild symptoms then hours later were dead. I wish we could just cancel at this point. My dh is the type who is ultracomplacent and says, 'it's just the flu', 'we'll be fine' and seems to not get that it's not the same as a cold and you can't just go on with your vacation as usual if you get it.
