I need some good last minute tips! What do you do during the seven days before your trip?

I worked (3) 7hr days and (1) 5hr day before my son and I headed to the airport Oct 4th. I left work to leave with my son immediately after school was dismissed. Work kept me busy.
We returned on a Sun at 4pm and I then went back to work (5) 7hr days before having Saturday off.
In 27 days I leave again on a Sat and return same flight as last time on Sun. Then work (5) 7hr days. On the first Sat after returning I have my inlaws here for christmas! So everything needs to be bought/shopped/wrapped/decorated by Thanksgiving weekend!

I always use those days to call and confirm PS's, flights, transportation arrangements, etc.

Barb,
Gosh, I thought I had it tough! I don't even work outside the home( which is a 2 bedroom condo). I thought I would do laundry, cleaning, ironing, packing, shopping for last minute things. I will call to verify my Ps's, etc. My dad was over tonight and was telling us about some really great deals the cruise lines(celebrity, carnival, and I forget who else) are having (4nights- 104.00 per person for outside cabin, $54.00 for inside cabin). I couldn't believe it! What cruise are you going on? I went on the Costa Riviera about 15 years ago (it was 850.00 then for 7 days and we had very nice cabins). Then we went on the Emerald Seas a few years later in Dec. and got so seasick on the first night out! These cruises would be so cheap for us, since we don't have to pay for airfare. Oh, well, the minute I get back from WDW I will be planning my Jan and Feb trips!

Have fun Susy
Enjoy the excitement of the last 7 days before leaving. Im the kind that always needs to be busy but working 5 full days right after returning home is a big stress on me. I had already booked the airfare for Dec back from FL before I left on my Oct trip. If I had known how stressful the return would be I may have tried returning Sat to give myself Sun to do the mountains of laundry and food shop. Of course working up to the minute we left was no problem for me. I had everything packed a week ahead of time.

I make a check list and try to be sure that I don't forget anything. I'll get the house in good order and maybe prepare a meal or two and use my handy "food saver" and have it in the freezer for the first day or two that we're back. I have a holiday at work on 11/12 and we're not leaving until 11/17. I'll work 11/13 thru 11/16---that will certainly keep me occupied. To me, the week of anticipation before we leave is almost as exciting as departure day! Have a wonderful trip.

I will personally be bouncing off the walls for about a month or so before we leave! I am allready so excited about it even though its 3 months away! I cant wait! this is my dream vacation!

1.- Check (or make) PS to eat.
2.- Work some overtime. The diversion will help pass the time.
3.- Relax! Lots to do very soon and you want to be able to enjoy it
4.- Clean your house/apt/condo so you come home to a clean place.
5.- ENJOY!

We leave Friday. I'm going to the Doc to get a seasick patch, starting to pack, call the paper company to hold the news paper, fill out the hold mail card and leave it for the mail carrier. Make my list, check it twice, three times. Read a few more trip reports and FAQs about the things I'm doing. Get all my itinerary stuff/APs/agendas/etc together. Got the oil changed and tires rotated. Made the appt at the vets for the dog to board. Get postcard stamps. Watch the trip planning videos a couple of times.
