I posted this on the Disney for Families board also but haven't got very many responses. (Thank you for those who did respond)

I have quick question. My Economics teacher just assigned us extra credit project at the high school. The project has to do with pretending you are a mother or father and have a child for a week. I'm planning on using a pretend baby doll since I'm an only child. Now the teacher has already approved for me to do this over my trip since it is due the friday after I come back from my DW vacation. Here are my questions:

1. Do you think Disney Cast Members will have any problems with allowing me to go on rides with the baby doll?

2. Do you think that I need a special pass or something to be able to get on rides or into the park?

3. Also we get more credit if we borrow items such as a car seat, stroller, etc. Do you know any places in Orlando that I can rent these without paying to much?

You can post on the thread or pm me with any suggestions. Your help would truly be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi Disneylover0105. I wouldn't think anyone would stop you from taking a doll on any of the rides except they might have you stow it in the bin on attractions such as Body Wars, Star Tours, Rock n Roller Coaster, etc. That probably defeats the purpose of the excercise which I would guess it's about caring for a child, in which case you will be skipping Body Wars, Star Tours, Rock n Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, etc.

The only pass you'll need will be theme park admission, which you can purchase in advance or at the gate. Since Baby Doll is under the age of 3 he/she will not need a pass. ;)

While you're at Disney, Universal, Sea World, etc, you'll have to rent a stroller, which you would do if Baby Doll were a real child. If you want to rent a car seat I'd suggest you borrow one from a mom who still has one from when their children were small. That will give you an idea of what it's like to have to transport the darned thing all the way to Orlando, giving you a feel for the 'real thing'.

Good luck! And don't forget to take Baby into the attractions with you even if you're tempted to leave him/her in the stroller when you're doing the thrll rides! It'll be a real eye-opener! ;)

I can't imagine anyone giving you a hard time bringing a doll onto any of the rides....but are you travelling as a single parent? If so, then you're STUCK, no one to baby swap with!! (I assume Grandma and Grandpa are around and could theoretically keep the baby while you went on a ride?)

You'll get seriously dirty looks if you rent a stroller from Disney for a doll, I would think. I'd consider a sling or a snuggli.

You might want to report on change station and nursing station conditions in your report.

You're not going to have to pay extra anywhere for anything.

I know Fort Myers has a ton of consignment shops where you can rent baby items like high chairs, strollers and car seats. You could probably find something similar in Orlando. We paid about $20 for a month-long car seat rental in 2001.

HTH, have fun, "Mom!"

"Grandma" bumping up.

I told her I have no problem with it, but she needs to talk to "Grandpa" about it. I too suggested she might borrow a sling from a friend of ours who had a baby in March.

It would be a good learning experience for her and I have stressed that if she decides to do this project, she will have to take "Baby" with her every where, including our 999 Happy Haunts event and the MNSSHP. So it is her decision.

Thank you for the responses.
