2) Ive heard of first time pins or buttons? what are they?

3) any advice for spending my mothers day there

4) what about my child is it true he can go on most rides just not the rollercoaster scarry type?

5) about how much money will we spend on food daily? we do plan on taking snacks and water bottles!

Can't answer all of your questions, we were there last year for Mother's Day, and we had a fantastic time. First time buttons you can get from City Hall. Because it's not peak season the Electric Parade and fireworks are not on, on a daily basis, so make sure you check the schedule. We loved the EP, go if you get the chance to see it, you won't be disappointed. Not sure how tall your ds is, and because I have teenagers that is one thing I didn't worry about. Most of all have a great time, I too hadn't been to DL in a very long time and DH and my kids had never been either and we had a blast, so much fun we are going back this October :cool1:

Hi! Welcome!!
You'll have an amazing trip and your little boy will have a great time too!
1. Photopass -this is a little gray card that you can get from any of the Disneyland photographers you'll see around the park. They will happily take photos of your family and then scan the bar code on the card. Then, when you get home, you can look up your card number online and view all of the photos that were taken of you. There are photographers all over both parks and they will all scan the one card for you. You can order any photos you like online and they will send them to you. If you want, you can order the whole lot of photos on CD for about $125.
Having said all of that, if money is tight, the photographers are happy to take a pic using your own camera too. Still use the card though and you can email the photos to friends and share them that way.

2. These are large 2 or 3" buttons for first time visitors. If you go to City Hall on Main St you can ask for one of these.

3. Have a good time!! No particular advice though.

4. He can go on lots of rides. Just check for the height restrictions. Make use of the baby swap pass on the rides he can't use. On those, one of you stays with the baby and the others line up. Have the one in the line up ask a CM for a baby swap pass. After they are done, they give you the pass and then you can ride the ride without waiting in the long line up.

5. That's a little like asking how long is a piece of string. I usually budget around $40 US per adult per day. We usually spend less than that though. We often eat one meal in the park per day and the other at one of the Harbor St. restaurants.

Hope that helps!!
Lydia

I can answer a few questions for you
1) What is a photopass
Photopass is a pass that you are given to use while you are at Disneyland. You are given a pass and anytime you see the photographers, you hand them your pass and they will scan it and take your pictures. All of your pictures are then available to you online to view and print. If you type in photopass in the search feature, you can learn more.
2) Ive heard of first time pins or buttons? what are they?
At the main street office at Disneyland. When you walk in, they are to the left just pass the tunnel that you go in. There is a line at the beginning of the day, but check back.
3) any advice for spending my mothers day there
Be pampered and spoiled:)
4) what about my child is it true he can go on most rides just not the rollercoaster scarry type?
Your 17 month old can ride any ride that does not have a height requirement. Most rollercoasters have height requirements. Also remember that they have baby care centers at both DL and CA. Go there to change or feed. It is quiet and you will enjoy the break. Also they will give your child a Mickey sticker but sometimes you have to ask for them.
5) about how much money will we spend on food daily? we do plan on taking snacks and water bottles!
Depends on what you would like to eat- counter service, sit down meals... Most kids meals (which feed my 2 boys or myself) are $4-6. Adult meals range from $5-10. Check portion size before ordering. Some places give you a lot more food than other places.

Have a great time!
