We are so excited and wanted to share our surprise since I can't tell my kids. The car is completely packed (except for last minute toiletries). The kids have no idea!!!! We'll be entertaining ourselves around the house today. Putting the kids to bed at 7pm (baby at 6pm) and getting up at 4am. We're taking them on a surprise trip to see their favorite characters- Mickey, Goofy and all the STAR WARS characters! Don't know if we are more excited, or if they will be...... Hope we get to see Darth Mickey and Darth Vader!!!! :Pinkbounc

how in the world could you have kept the secrate this long, have fun

How in God's name were you able to keep it a secret?!?! I would be busting at the seams! Have they been to WDW before? We are down to 10 days away and cannot wait! Would love to see the expressions on your kids faces when they find out! Have a great time! :cool1:

Woo Hoo!!!! So your children will "sleep" in the car not knowing where they're headed?!! My parents did that to my (now 28 y/o son) when he was about 7!!! Make sure you have a camera out and ready when the kids finally learn the truth - the expressions on their faces will be priceless!!! :goodvibes

Believe me, we are about to bust! I woke up at 5am today. It's going to be hard today. We about blew it a couple of times chatting on the phone. But luckily, I could always add.... "in October" because we are heading back in October. This is a last minute trip, planned three weeks ago. My son turns five this weekend, so this is for his birthday too. He is having a Star Wars party next weekend. Thanks for sharing in my joy. I can hear their giggles now! Haven't been in over a year and we're taking our new Baby Tinkerbell (9 mos) with us!

Talk about similarities! Our trip in a week and a half is also for our oldest DS 5th birthday! And we too will be taking our newest addition DS 8 mos. for the first time! Do us a favor and post a picture of your kids faces when they find out where they are going!

Wow! Have a wonderful time. Five is such a fun age for Disney, but my seven year old is a huge fan as well. I'd love to see your pics too. Kids are only little once...... :wizard:

Hope you have super time!

If and when I have kids to take I hope I can suprise them like this without bursting first!

I'm so excited for you, I wish I could have kept the secret from mine but I talk about disney night and day so it would have been near impossible. Well done to you, we want to hear all about it when you get back!

Talk about trying to keep a secret! We are going for Christmas. The kids won't know 'till we're on our way to the airport on 12/21.
They are always bugging us to open "just one" gift starting about mid Dec., so this year we'll let them open a package with something Disney and maybe their Disney luggage tags, then tell them we're headed to the airport!
I am a huge planner and I have already got almost everything done, just waiting on the 90 day window to make our PS calls.
My wife says she has 3 kids me being the biggest!
I can't wait!
Thanks for letting me spill the secret. I don't think I could hold it in until Dec!

Have a Blast - and take photos - I love these surpirise trip stories --- Don't forget to tell us all about it when you get back!

Have fun!

Goofy DS - what a Christmas present that will be! Plus your kids get the fun of flying. We drive but my kids have been begging to ride on a plane.

fizz13- I know the feeling- we talk about Disney every day, only luckily for us I can pretend we're talking about October.

My son wants to buy a special Star Wars toy this weekend. My grandmother gave him some money to have something special for him on his brother's birthday. He keeps asking "Can we go on Friday?". My husband just smiles and says "Friday sounds like it might be a good day." Little does he know he will be able to buy it in the Star Wars gift shops in MGM.

I'll let everyone know how it goes.

I know exactly how you feel trying to keep a secret like that. We are keeping the same from our children....they think we will be going to Disney in August, but we are actually leaving when we pick them up from school on thier last day. I'm already packed and they have been walking pass the suitcases for days now! They just think I'm nuts to be packed so far in advance. Even my 11 year old has no idea. I plan to write on the car window "DISNEY OR BUST" when we go pick them up! I can't wait to see thier faces, I think I'm more excited by this then the trip! :flower:

How fun! There is NO WAY I could keep a secret like that! DH was wanting to surprise our DD's with our trip - waiting about a week before leaving to tell them. That was impossible for me. I begged him to let me tell them back in March (I'm just pitiful, I know). But it has been so fun for me having them excited with me all this time. We've talked about the trip just about every day since I told them. Now, it's just 8 days until we leave!! :Pinkbounc

Have a great trip! :cheer2:

Have a wonderful time!!!! Make sure you give us a trip report when you get back! :earboy2:

We are trying for a December suprise as well. I'm not sure I can do it. My Mom is going with us, so our plan is to tell the girls she is coming to our house, and we are taking her to the airport. We are telling them that she will be gone for a few weeks, and is taking extra luggage (ours). At the airport, We will be giving them hooded sweatshirts, to wear inside, since it will be too warm for winter coats inside. They are going to say "SUPRISE-we're going to Disney World." I can't wait. I'm bursting already.

Have a wonderful vacation, and be sure to let us know how the suprise went!!

Have a great trip!!!!

We are doing this to our DD when we leave, next Thursday!!! She has NO idea. Her birthday is Friday, I can't wait!!!!!!

When I get caught talking about it, she always thinks we're talking about a trip we've already been on....she knows that her Mommy's OBSESSED!!! LOL

I too, hope to see pictures!!

We are leaving in 17 days to fly down. The kids have no idea that they will soon be making their 1st trip to WDW. I have been giving them clues and they think we are going to the beach. We watched the planning video one time last Saturday and so now I can bring up really cool rides to the kids and the DS8 and I are "plotting to get Daddy to take us next summer". I plan on waiting until we are on the way to the airport to give the oldest a wrapped up Birnbaums guide for kids by kids and give DD4 a wrapped up princess dress and tiara. The bad part is the little one has a tendency to shriek when she gets excited so not only will I have my grandmother on speaker phone on one cell phone and my mom on speaker phone on another cell phone but I am considering having the person driving us to the airport pull over before we tell them so we don't wreck. They are going to be so excited!!!
