I amleaving for Disney in 2 weeks, just confirmed my room at the Cypress Point, and I have tons of questions!
I have read this board since my last trip(and first trip) last year but I didnt think the opportunity to go back would come this soon. But I am leaving Oct 7, and I havent done anything! My questionsare:
-1-How early do yall usually get your tickets if you are staying off site?My husband wants to wait until we get there, but I want to order online and pick up there.
-2-Where can I rent a Tv/vcr combo, preferably the ones in the bag that go over the back of the front two seats?(posted this somewhere else) Need to do it in person, not online.
-3-Should I pack mostly shorts-hot weather clothes?
-4-Other than Chef Mickeys(we loved that last year) what are the best priority seating events for a 6yr old boy and 2 yr old girl? I heard that Cindy's wasnt all that thrilling for boys
-5-What are the best rides for a 2, almost 3yr old who is afraid of most dips in "roller coasters"
-6-Is Its a Small world open?
-7-Is baby swap open for most rides, and can you use it for 2 yr olds?
I still have so much to do, my head is spinning thinking about it. NOT to mention thinking about the state of AMerica today, and uncertain future. But I'm going to help the economy(not mine) and show my kids the good in the country.
ANY ANSWERS TO THE ABOVE QUESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED! sORRY SUCH A LONG POST.

Hi,

I can answer a couple of your questions:

-1 - We stay offsite and usually buy our tickets when we get there. It doesn't usually take too long. We bought PAPs last time which took a little longer but if you allow an extra 30 minutes you'll have plenty of time.
-3- IMO shorts and warm weather clothing would be right. We went end of October and it was very warm. Perhaps a waterproof aswell.
-4- My boys liked Cindys - there are male face characters like Prince Charming and Peter Pan. It kind of depends on which characters they like but mine enjoyed the character dinner at the Swan Gullivers Restaurant where they saw Goofy.
-7- baby swap is available for the coaster type rides - you can use it with any age child.

Hope thats of some help.

Angela

COME ON FELLOW POSTERS-HELP A GIRL OUT!
I know you guys have seen these questions before but I would appreciate any and all comments!
Angela-by the way-what are PAP's?:smooth:

Hi truescorp!

I am not Angela - but PAP are premium annual passes - these are good at all parks and water parks.
For tickets, I would consider purchasing them through www.floridaorlandotickets.com If you purchase through them by Sept. 30 you will get 4 plusses with a 5 day hopper. This is not mentioned on the site - but it WILL happen. And you get your tickets in just a couple of days. And they are priced about the same as if you used a Disney Club card.

I would take a sweatshirt or jacket and one pair of slacks, but I would bet that you won't need them. We have been there 2x at this time and never wore any warm clothes.

Why not try one of the Pooh Meals - either at the Crystal Palace in the MK or at the 1900 Park Fare in the GF (although I was not happy with that one.) I hear lots of good things about the Garden Grille in the Land at Epcot - Mickey is there too.

That is about what I know for now - hope that this helps! :)

Hi - Hope this helps

1. Personally I'd buy tix there, It shouldn't take long at all, especially if attendance is down. Just preview all ticket windows as people tend to gather in lines and there might be an enpty window right next to it.

3. Definitely warm weather clothes, couple sweatshirts, 1-2 pants. Check 10 day forecast before you leave for some insight.

4. We always enjoy Liberty Tree Tavern Meal at MK and Garden Grille at EPCOT. Good character interaction and plenty of family style food (they bring the "buffet" to your table and you can get more of anything you'd like.

5. Have you tried Goofy's barnstormer? My 3.5 yo loved it. Its very short, but quite fast. If she doesn't like it it's over in no time. There are some dips but not huge ones.

6. I think so

7. Baby swap definately available for all Big rides for any age, we have never used it though cause I'm too chicken to ride alone. :)

Thanks guys for the responses so far-more welcomed as everyone has different ideas!
We found out that through our RCI plus membership we already are members of Connections, and I read that they were the cheapest discount at $235 for a 5day Park Hopper Plus pass.So we booked with them and our tickets should get here in 3 days!
I'm glad everyone agreed on warm weather clothes-so I'm in the process of finding all our shorts, etc.
Do they sell ponchos small enough for 2 yr olds?
I will try my little girl on the Barnstormer, I never even looked at that ride last time we went, thanks for that tip.
I was planning on getting my little girl a glow lite, and I wondered do you ever get negative remarks about the lite on the ride, or do people not seem to mind?
And one more question-We decided to buy a Tv/Vcr combo in a bag-any tips on which brand is good?(we want the one that goes over the back of the seat)

You use baby swap if you have a child that is too young or doesn't want to go on a ride. Dad waits in line and Mom waits at the exit with the baby. When Dad comes off the ride, they let Mom go on right away without having to wait in line while Dad waits with the baby. Ask a cast member near a ride about if you think you want to use it.

The ponchos at Disney are 2 sizes - adult and child. The child one was too long for my 4 year old (he was about 40" at the time). You might want to check stores at home to see if they have any smaller ones. Or you could buy one at home and cut it to the right length before you go.

Your 2 year old will probably like It's a Small World. I think Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan both have some dips in them, but there is so much going on that she may not notice.

DO NOT - under ANY circumstances take your small children to see "It's Tough To Be A Bug" in AK.. Was just there with my granddaughter who turned 3 this past Monday and her parents thought she "could handle it" and would not listen to my warnings.. Not even a full minute into the show she was so hysterical she was actually gasping for air!! I yanked her right out of my daughters arms (and am ashamed to say I threw a few choice words at her parents as well) and ran outside with her where it took me a good ten minutes to calm her down.. The end result was she refused to go IN or ON anything for TWO FULL DAYS after that - even if the ride was outside in plain view.. I bought her one of those little flashlights and had a LONG talk with her about how everything she would see in the shows and on the rides was only make believe - we would always be right beside her - and I would make sure she had her flashlight.. She was fine after that and no one complained about her having a light.. When you get your map of each of the parks look for the black exclamation point next to a ride or show and if you see it then it's a pretty safe bet you shouldn't take your small children in it or on it.. Hope you have a great time! P.S. You might want to find a little rain coat at home.. We had torrential downpours when we were there and went through TWENTY disposable ponchos between my daughter & I in the course of about 10 days..
