Leaving if wait too long?

If the waiting is a particular concern, you may want to consider booking an ADR relatively early (i.e. 5pm). My family does that and never has a problem.

However, we are early risers.

That is what we do and we have not had any significant problems. Its what we do around home as well. We find that as long as we go before 6pm we beat the crowd and the dining experience is so much more enjoyable.

We walked away once. It was at Coral Reef after running the marathon. We had waited for 45 minutes past our ADR time, the waiting area was very crowded and standing was our only option. My legs were not happy. I asked at the podium if we would be seated soon and the CM said there was still a handful of groups ahead of us. We asked if we would have to pay the no show fee if we left and they said no. I knew that even if we only had to wait even 5 more minutes I probably wouldn't enjoy the meal so we left and grabbed a few QS items.
