:goodvibes i'm SUPER excited...i leave on Friday for a 2 day excursion to Disney. the cast is myself (22), my sis (18) and her best friend (18). my sister's friend has only been to Disneyland once and never to DCA so we are going to do our best to give her a taste of Disney magic! one of the main surprises we have for her is Fantasmic, she knows there is a show called that but she doesn't know where when what or how :) so my question for everyone is...what do you think the best place would be for us to watch the show? i've seen it from all different views and i don't honestly think i have a strong preference. we are going to the second seating on Sunday night but i am curious as to what everyone thinks about where to watch it from?

she also thinks we are leaving on Monday morning to come home but my sister and i booked breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen as a "farewell" type of thing...but we don't know how we are going to get her there without being totally obvious . any ideas?

5 days!

Take me with you. :sad1:

Best place for Fantasmic?:

"Above New Orleans Square (adjacent to Frontierland) is the Disney Gallery. The Disney Gallery showcases the art and history of Disneyland but it also has a balcony that offers an unobstructed view of the show.

Guests who pay a small fee for dessert can be seated on the balcony to watch the free Fantasmic Show. This is a delightful way to enjoy the show.

Be sure to make reservations early in the morning when you first arrive at the park because the few balcony seats fill up fast."

Wait--I guess what I said about where to watch the show isn't right.

From the comments on the article [by a Disneyland CM, supposedly]:

"The Disney Gallery is no longer above the entrance of pirates and the fantasmic balconey hasn't been used almost 2 years...You can purchase tickets to see fantasmic (where you get a seat and complimentary drinks and dessert) at city hall or by calling the toll free number on the disney reservations website."

:confused3

The Disney Gallery is now the Disney Dream Suite. No more buffet and viewing.
You'll need to get to the area around New Orleans square about 30-45 minutes ahead of time. Grab a churro and get comfy.

As far as Goofy's Kitchen, we've done fairwell breakfasts before too and it's a nice way to end a trip. Where are you staying? You can always pull the ol' "we want to get DVC info to try to get a cheaper trip next time but they only have info at DLH" bit.

Good luck and and have fun!

They no longer offer balcony cause it's now the dream suite prize. Also the dessert tickets go on sale 30 days in advance for about 58 $ per person, and are long sold out if you wait till the very day you want to see it. Did it in 06 of march and got the last tickets they had, so best to call NOW!!! Also just a heads up. In a post I read yesterday they have just started Fantasmic back up, and they no longer have the pyrotechnics as they used to. The original poster of the thread just saw the show, and said it did NOT have the fire on the river, or during the big fight, so that seems to be a huge bummer since it added big to the show. Just a heads up.

off topic, Lostgirlz in case you never look at your signature, your "snow" and "ho ho" pictures have been moved or deleted, according to the message in the photobucket images. :) And the bottom half of your ticker is gone (due to the site only allowing a certain size for the sigs). :)

OP I have no info for you, b/c I've never seen Fantasmic, but I think it's awfully sweet to try to make the friend's trip fun!

:scared1: Never?

I saw it for the first time last July. It was amazing (the show--however, the experience itself? Not so much.*)

*I was stuck behind this real "witchy" (can't say the actual word) lady, who kept talking on her phone nearly the whole time, obstructed my view, and kept flicking her hair in my face. My sister was having her...er, "lady time", and she was being a pain in the "A". People were pushing and all sorts of crap...:headache:

Oh, but the show--amazing! I loved it.

We've only gone in the off seasons so far, or when it's otherwise down.

DH did go into DL in December, after I had spent some time alone in DCA (my wimpy boys went back to the hotel when it started pouring...I stayed and went on Grizz in the rain, LOL), and saw a little bit of it (left b/c he felt guilty seeing it without us).

There's a possibility of seeing it during our May trip, but we'd have to spend $120 for blockout passes that day, so we're not totally sure we're going to do it.

Thanks, took care of it. I'm usually so intensely reading threads a few times a day I guess I never noticed it. Should start my DL halloween ticker lol.
