Hello everyone! We are so excited we leave for Disney in 3 days! This will be our first time camping at the fort. Does anyone know if they are packed around this time of the year? We are staying until 6/7. Also we do not want to make reservations in advance. Do you think we will still be able to get into restaurants like 50's prime time and Whipering Canyon?

We are thinking of renting a golf cart. Does anyone know the cost? Can you rent one for part of your stay? Is it worth it?

Thanks again for all the great answers you guys have!

Hello everyone! We are so excited we leave for Disney in 3 days! Yay!!!! You're going to love it!!!! This will be our first time camping at the fort. Does anyone know if they are packed around this time of the year? The crowds certainly get worse after this time. memorial day will be full, like any holiday, and should thin out after that. We are staying until 6/7. Also we do not want to make reservations in advance. Do you think we will still be able to get into restaurants like 50's prime time and Whipering Canyon?
If at all possible, make those ressies! Disney tries to account for some walk ups, but if there is a place you know you want to go, I wouldn't risk it!

It is $50 a day. If you rent for the week you will get a small discount.

Have a safe and wonderful trip!!!!!

Ami's right, you may have a hard time getting into your restaurants. A friend of mine is going in Oct. and called to make her ressies 2 weeks ago, and couldn't get 50's Primetime Cafe. That's 5 months out! Primetime Cafe and Whispering Canyon are very popular. However, if you decided to still do the stand by thing, I suggest either going for lunch, or the earliest you can for dinner. Have a great trip!!

I would make ADR's or you may have to eat counter service. The golf cart is about $50.00 a day, you can reserve it for as many or few days as you like. Kids get out of school in some areas the first of June, so it will be a bit busy. Have a MAGICAL TIME....

Hi,

I'll be there the end of May through June 1st and I'd say it's pretty busy cause most kids are out of school by then. My niece in Baton Rouge. La wrapped up her final exams last week. One big tip, don't wear Red that first day of June if you're a guy, it's long story, just trust me Red is not the color of the week that week. DH still gets mad at me for not forwarning him one year when we went the first week of June, I am still laughing though.

Anyway, I would go ahead and call 407-WDW-DINE asap and see if you can get PS for what you want and have a back up plan just incase you can't get in, which you probably won't be able to for Prime time at this point. Theme park resturant's book up the quickest cause' even alot of non-disney resort guest get PS and I'd say Prime Time is the most popular restaurant at MGM. You can also go ahead and call the bike barn to reserve your golf cart in advance for whatever you want to keep it for.

Have a MAGICAL time and I'll see ya there!

Wow- how exciting. I highly recommend a Golf Cart- it really makes the Fort more fun. And try to make reservations as soon as possible.

We have been going every year the first of June and the resturants are always crowded. Lots of people wear red, so go ahead you wont be disappointed.

why can't you wear red?

The first weekend in June is Gay Days. But, if I'm not mistaken, the shirt color is different each year.

I don't know why everyone is dodging the red question...I don't know if your not aloud to say why, but I guess I will anyway...

Supposedly its the "unofficial" gay and lesbian week of disney and those that are celebrating there sexual orientation wear red to notice each other.

that's not fair that they change the color....... lesson learned.

Rhonda is no fun. However, it is fun to watch your husband get hit on when he finds out the hard way!:lmao:

I almost always plan ahead and get ressies but last trip we did a few things different and by going early and at lunch during the week we managed to go to Sci Fi and Whispering Canyon...I have been to 50's as a walk up as well but had to eat at their Soda Fountain....good luck and have a magical day!!!! Try to go to make your ressies as soon as you enter the park that day...don't wait til you are hungry!!!!
