I feel like we've had a Disney drought! It's been two years since we were at Walt Disney World and I'm wondering if we will fall in love all over again?! We leave Saturday and I feel rusty using Magical Express and late check-in and grocery delivery :upsidedow Has anything changed in two years? I need some inspiration. This is what I know has changed in two years:

I think BCV mattresses/sofabeds have been replaced?
Internet is finally included at no charge.

What else do I need to be aware of? I am hoping that the holiday carousel is still in the Beach Club lobby and I am assuming I check-in in the same place, too?

I feel terribly unprepared  !

Denise,

Hello from a fellow TUGger! (I'm Amy on TUG). I think you'll have a fantastic time so don't worry. We're heading off to BCV in three weeks and I cannot wait! We've spent a week there during the pre-Xmas/X-mas period during three of the past four years and we have not been disappointed yet. I love the resort, particularly during the holiday season; no other DVC resort makes me feel the same way. I'm sure you'll feel the love when you walk into the lobby and see the soothing color scheme all jazzed up by the holiday decor; you'll feel even better when you walk through the solarium on your way to the BCV.

So far I haven't seen any changes to the lovely holiday decor -- that chocolate/gingerbread carousel in the lobby seems to be a tradition. Please let us know if that changes this year!

Yes, I believe all the sofabeds have been replaced since your last visit. I don't recall hearing about bedroom mattresses being replaced, though. Have I missed this news?

Check-in is back at the BC hotel check-in. The resort experimented with checking DVC owners in at the BCV for a while (though after our last stay) and that didn't seem to work out.

I must say the only part of our trip that I am *not* looking forward to is the use of Magical Express. I dislike waiting for the bus, waiting on the bus while others load, waiting on the bus while we go to one resort after another before reaching BCV. But the kids love it, DH loves it (because he loves not having to go to baggage claim as we typically travel with a ton of stuff), and it saves us $$$ so I put up with it. Don't forget to pack essentials for your family (including kids' bedtime stuff) because ME can take up to 4+ hours to drop off your luggage.

How many days are you spending in WDW? We'll be staying 8 days but we plan only 3 park days because we all enjoy hanging out at Stormalong Bay.

We just returned from BCV on Wednesday. We had breakfast reservations at Cape May in the morning and when the DGC came down the elevator their mouths literally flew open when they saw the huge Christmas tree in the DVC lobby there. Then they saw the carousel in the BC lobby and were in awe trying to find the hidden Mickeys. All 7 of us had a great breakfast with Minnie, Goofy and Donald and then we went to the YC's lobby where their train, little village exhibit was greatly admired. It was a great time, and when we did venture either into the villa pool or SAB we had the pools practically all to ourselves. The water was warm, air was cool, (I'm sure it's warming up now) but the kids didn't even notice that.

Have a great time!

The sofa bed in the living room was comfortable for those who used it.

Hi and thanks for the cheery words :) . Hi Amy from TUG :wave2: I am trying to get motivated to pack and get everything organized. I have to check-in online in two hours, too.

We will be at BCV for 6 nights (I wish it were longer!). We will use Magical Express, but grab our own bags at MCO to avoid a 3-hour+ delay in getting our bags. We don't arrive into MCO until 9:20 PM! I think that is what bothers me the most...the long travel day from California with two kids. The grocery delivery guys seem a little iffy too, so I'm not really sure if they will truly deliver what I ordered.

Oh well, I can't worry about that now. Maybe next time we will rent a car and do our own shopping, but I hate to waste a few hours and the $$ doing that.

Can't wait to see the chocolate/gingerbread carousel! In 2005, they were actually putting it together when we were there. That was fun to watch when they wheeled out all of the parts that year.

Oh, I hope it is warmer than it has been during our last two trips! We were the only ones freezing at SAB in 2006 because it was in the 60s and we had to go in since it was there ;) . It would be great if the weather report for mid-70s holds up!

Thanks for the inspiration!

before you go get your luggage - be aware that most of the late deliver is not DME fault - but the luggage was not there.

so put the yellow tags on your luggage and they will get to Disney.

airlines (as if you don't know lie) - they will tell you it was delivered and disney is the problem. This is not true.

believe me been in Orlando airport before - and since I don't like to fly - and this happened to me twice - really think about. the airport delivered the luggage to the wrong place. It took them 3 hours to find it and get it to us.....

myself rather take DME and let them get the luggage - or do you really want to stand around the airport for an hour to 3 hours waiting for the airport to deliver your luggage. When you could be at WDW enjoying yourself....

I am on tug - don't post alot.

on this happen to be on two different airlines - first time - SW, the next time Delta. If I understand what happened correctly the airlines were not at fault - the airport was the problem.
