The Wailana pool was never signed as "adult" or "quiet" but simply Wailana pool. I think in the map before it was opened it called it an adult pool but when the actual resort opened it was never signed any particular way. There is a small bar next to it and a few cabanas. That area was hardly used in the many times we've been to the resort. It's under some trees, so it's colder over there in my opinion. Very pretty and peaceful.
I think the Aloha packet they sent us had a map that referred to Wailana pool as an adult pool but at the resort it was not labeled as such. It was a deeper pool, started at 4' to 8'. So many parents wouldn't want their children there. There was a mother and her son doing swimming practice at that pool one morning while we were there, but otherwise, I don't remember seeing any kids in that pool during our one week stay.
I expect it will change when they open the new infinity pool nearby. As more people will walk by the Wailana pool going to and from the new pool and the restaurant that will be opening soon.
I think that Aulani will not be limiting any areas to adults only. Disney resorts don't seem to think adult areas are needed like DCL does.
