We'll be at Epcot next Sunday, and would like to leave for a few hours to visit the resorts near the international gateway. Our fast passes are in the morning, so we'll have a lot of time in the afternoon. We're eating at LeCellier at 12:30, and then back t Via Napoli for dinner at 7:45. Is there anything for us to see and do, or re we wasting our time? Someone told me that there was stuff to do at the boardwalk. We go to Disneyevery year, so we aren't ones to try and cram everything in like we did in our first few visits. We now take a step back and enjoy it by not rushing.

We like to do this because we love the BW/BC/YC area. I wouldn't really say there's much to see or do, but it's a pretty area to walk around and it's literally steps from Epcot.

We like to do walk around the entire area, take some pictures, browse the stores, and we usually end up at Beaches and Cream for some ice cream. They have a to go window that serves most of their ice cream dishes, it can be hard to get in the actual restaurant especially now that they take ADRs.

On a nice day a walk around the Boardwalk is nice, stroll over to Swan and Dolphin, go to the shops on the boardwalk, check out the bakery of course! ESPN is there- found some nice Rundisney things there.

Walk through the Beach club and Yaght club-Ice cream at Beaches and Cream

Or sit outside Hurricanes with a Pina Colada and enjoy the afternoon.

There was never things to do in the afternoons other than shopping when I stayed at BWI so I wouldn't waste your time.

What are the ages in your group? There is so much to do at Epcot I would suggest not leaving. This is a park where you really need to do your research. Beyond the headliners there are lots of great things to see and do.

Also just sitting and taking it in is wonderful. Get something to eat, and a drink and rest. Traveling with my husband we did a wine tasting in Germany and France. I am not a big shopper, but France shopping is a must do.

With kids there are great outdoor shows and concerts in the World area. There's a man who stacks these chair towers in France as an example

Instead of "hauling it back" to the boardwalk area I would stay. Remember though if you do leave to take the boat taxi.

Another idea is to visit one of the bars at an Epcot resort. These are kid friendly! You can have a cold beverage and get a quick snack. So sorry I'm blanking on the hotel, but there is a patio area up high with a lovely view across the lake.

Is the bakery at the Boardwalk? If so, how would I get there from the International Gateway? I'm unfamiliar with the entire area. Also, where is Beaches and Cream?

The bakery is on the Boardwalk.

The area is one big circle, once you get there you'll easily figure it out, it's easy to figure out once you can see it. You walk out of International Gateway and walk straight. You'll go over a little hill, to your left is the way to Boardwalk, and straight ahead is the path to BC. If you walk towards Boardwalk first you'll go past Boardwalk, followed by YC and then BC. Opposite if you walk straight first instead of turning. Beaches and Cream is at the pool area at YC/BC. Walk along the hotel behind the pool area and you'll find the entrance.

I agree. I also think that a nice walk around the lake is a great way to relax for an hour or so if not more. There are actually five resorts to visit - Boardwalk, Swan, Dolphin, Yacht Club and Beach Club. If you've never visted any of these resorts, here's your chance to do it.
