Mad I'm glad you are just taking a break and not leaving us. In my experience you are a fair and generous person and it is not fair that some people are jealous of that. I hope to see you in VMK!

Heya, Mad!
I know all too well how some people have tunnel vision and only see what they want to see...don't let them get you down! If you'll notice, I take "mini-breaks" from this and other vmk forums. I can go for months without posting anything, until tempers cool. Take a "mini-break" and see if things look better after a few weeks.
Either way, I'm sure we will run into each other again on the game.

I take "mini-breaks" from the DIS VMK forum, too.
I won't go into details about why I choose to do so, but it's nice to get away from this forum once in awhile.

Jealousy sometimes gets the better of some people. You just have to not let them get to you.

You should be able to give whatever you want and to whom you want when ever you want without being pressured to give to beggers.

Take a break for awhile and come back to those that really appreciate all that you have done.

Funny talking about the fireworks pins, I fairly often hand them out like candy, in fact qruthie has been a recipient of probably 10 or 12 for her quests and games.

That's right, Mad has given me Fireworks pins and I have thanked him profusely. I have also given him stuff but have never felt obligated to give to him. Mad is a great VMK friend and a very generous person. He doesn't have a sense of entitlement when it comes to VMK items, instead he works hard for what he wants. I admire that about him more than I could ever express in words.

That said, I have sensed some edginess on this board about whether or not people who have a lot of items should be giving them away as gifts. Perhaps the people who have commented, complained or made insensitive remarks just aren't aware that what they said might be hurtful. It happened on this board within the last week. The thread I have in mind had nothing to do with me but I was quite offended by some of the comments. Please don't ask me to name names or point out the thread, that's not my point. My point is that there are people on this board who are disgruntled about some others who have had the opportunity to acquire large amounts of items. So perhaps Mad is not overreacting. Personally, I haven't heard a single gripe about Mad but that doesn't mean it isn't happening.

If a player wants to keep their stuff, they can keep it. It doesn't make them any worse or any better than I am just because I CHOOSE to give SOME of my stuff away. They have made their choices and I have made my choices. We made different choices but that's it.
