Leaving Dec 20. When can I get FP+?

I am trying to find out when I can start reserving FP+ for my upcoming trip. I have looked on line and on these threads. I am sorry if this has been explained before, however I can't find this info anywhere. All the web site says if that I am not allowed to reserved FP+ for the dates selected. I have not selected any dates. Please help a rookie thru this unexpected frustrated procedure. Thanks for your help.

1. Are you staying on site?
2. Do you have your tickets linked?

You should have been able to book since the 20th of October.

Are you staying onsite?
Do you have your tickets in hand or a will call#?
Did you create a My Disney Experience account?
Did you link your reservation and tickets to the account?

If any of these are missing then you can't do it...

If you're staying onsite and have tickets linked to MDE, you should have been able to make selections starting at the end of October. Our trip is 12/13-12/21 and even though I just received the email invite last week, i've been able to make FP+ selections and customize my MB since about 58 days out.
