Leaving bags at resort

Has anyone ever done this....

We are planning a "personal land/sea" vacation in May. We are coming in one day early, staying at SSR and then returning to SSR for 4 more days following the cruise.

We dont want to tote ALL of our suitcases/gear with us on the cruise portion... so do you think it would be ok to leave some of our items at the baggage area (or some storage area) for the 3 days we are aboard DCL? I am talking 2 or 3 bags, and our Owner's Locker.

Thoughts?

I would bet something could be worked out where your bags could be left with bell services at the resort.

This will be no problem at all, The bell services gang at SSR is great. Just explain what you're doing and they'll be more than happy to take care of your luggage.

The bell service at all of the DVC resorts I've stayed out (including SSR) have always been great! I have fait that all would be just fine! Perhaps call SSR directly just to confirm. Have a wonerful time!

Has anyone saying this will work actually DONE it? I remember someone trying this years ago over on the cruise board and being told "sorry, we don't have space for that" - but it was almost certainly at a different resort. I'd call SSR to check - and then I wouldn't be too surprised if the answer when you were actually there was different than the one you got on the phone (because Disney CMs are the epitome of consistancy).

We're at most of the resorts every day (particularly the DVC) resorts and I see luggage temporarily stored for cruisers all the time. And, we have had quite a few of our Members do exactly what is being proposed with no problem whatsoever. I feel 100% safe in saying it's fine. If you think about it, Disney would be shooting themselves in the foot if they didn't allow cruise line/resort guests to store luggage for a few days while on a cruise.

Thanks John... that was my thought (May be different if we were cruising RCL or something!).... I trust you... since after all, our owner's locker is one of the items that is going to stay behind with our bags until we return!

:O)

Call the resort and ask them.

we have done this 100% on several occasions, they will store your luggage, they call it long term storage

We did this just last Christmas, and it was even before we had checked in. We stayed at the VWL for 5 nights, then did the 4 night DCL cruise and then checked into the AKLV. So we left our "extra" luggage with AKL Bell Services in long term storage before the cruise.
