Nothing in AK jumps out to us for dinner so I am looking at other options. We would be taking a bus home and really could eat anywhere. Any suggestions??

There are 4 of us and we will be staying at the Poly. 2 children... one with multiple food allergies. We will have park hopper pass so we could go anywhere really.

We were thinking of trying maybe Boma (kinda worried about the food allergies though) or some place in the Boardwalk area like Flying Fish or Cape May or Captains Grill?? Any thoughts?? Suggestions??

Just for a reference... places our family has eaten and liked... California Grill, Le Cellier, Teppan Edo, Biergarten, Kona, Ohana, Coral Reef (although horrible service).

We found Mama Melrose fine but nothing special and we were less than impressed with 1900 Park Fair and Chef Mickeys to be honest... liked the characters but the food was blah.

I would suggest Boma's. They have really good food and service, plus before you eat you can walk around and look at the animals and at the gorgeous lodge. We are actually eating there on our AK day as well, it will be a short bus ride over to AKL from there. I wouldn't worry too much about your food alergy because you can always talk to the chef and let him know, they are very good about that sort of thing :goodvibes

If you think you want to just go back to your hotel and relax, why not eat at Kona or my personal favorite Ohana? You already know you like the food!

The only park worth hopping to is Epcot so you can eat around the world! I love the CS at Morocco - so good! Or try something new around the world!

Another vote for Boma. I am pretty picky when it comes to food and thought it would be "wierd" but DH and I loved it when we went in Feb...so much so that the whole family is going back on our April trip!

We have been to Boma w/ food allergies and the chef was fantastic. He took my SIL through the entire buffet and showed her what she could and couldn't have. Disney is the one place where we feel so comfortable knowing that we do not have to worry about allergies.
I would choose Boma for something different.
If you are really looking to make use of your park hoppers, than I would head to Epcot and pick one of the many delicious restaurants in the World Showcase.

Those 2 are already on our list... they are must dos for our family!!! :earsboy:

We are currently planning on doing Ohana, Kona and Le Cellier... and are seriously considering Cali Grill and HDDR (we've never done HDDR but I think my boys are old enough to enjoy it now... they are 5 and 8). We are debating about doing the deluxe dining plan this year because quite honestly the table service places seemed FAR better able to accommodate food allergies (my son has MULTIPLE) then most counter services places. I'd really like to try some new places too though.

I say since you are staying at the Poly with 2 fabulous restaurants, head there to one of them.

That way you can stay in the park until close, head to the restaurant and then you are already at your hotel...no need for further travel. It can be a relaxing experience. (which is a nice welcome on a WDW vacation.)

On a side note, I wouldn't do Boma. We did not like the food there. All dishes are made with sweet spices, including the meats, soups and the sides. Cinnamon and vanilla are a couple of the spices used in everything.
So picky eaters, and people with allergies (of course it depends on the allergy) may have a difficult time with finding something here.

Have a good trip!!

When we left AK last yr, we went over to AKL to walk around and enjoy it there, we ate at Mara..

I would say do Boma tho if you want to eat at AKL, since your at the Poly you probably have Ohana or Kona booked already..

One more suggestion since its just a monorail ride away what about CM or 1900 Park Fare for the kids?
