So I came up with this great idea while on maternity leave to go to Disney for my 30th birthday as our last adults only trip. I have my trip all set up and I'm trying to decide how to best get my daughter (who will be 1 at the time of our trip) acclimated to grandma's house before we leave.
Problems: I do have a full time job and not a ton of vacation time to take extra days off AND grandma lives an hour and a half away from our home (Milwaukee to Chicago).
I was initially thinking about going down a day early so we can play for a whole day, I can put her to bed that night and it will be like a normal experience but it grandma's house. BUT, our flight the next morning is way before she wakes up so I'll be gone when she leaves.
Would that cause more problems than if I left in the middle of the day? Does anyone have any experience with this situation? She's a very mild mannered/relaxed baby (at 9 months now) and knows grandma and grandpa well and likes them. My mom also does in home day care as her job, so no issues with her getting overwhelmed or my daughter being bored as there will be other kids around.
Thanks for the help. I'm a worried mama!
