"Leave them alone they are just lovin' each other"A 5/12 TR *Updated 12/30*

Love the room pics!

I can see why Michael was scared of that curtain. It is pretty spooky looking!

I am really enjoying your TR. We stayed at CBR in Dec 2010 & leave in 29 days for our next visit. Reading your report is getting me excited about going, not that I wasnt excited already:goodvibes. Cannot wait to read the rest. Oh and what a cutie you have there.

I hope you don't mind, but I'm popping in, too!!! Love your report so far! We are going in August and I hope I am as pleased with CBR as you are!! :goodvibes

Of course I don't mind! The more the merrier :). I hope you love it too, I know it gets looked over a lot, now that I've been I'm not sure why. :confused3

Hey, Bicki!! I'm here and lovin the report so far! We loved CBR when we stayed here in 2009, we had a Nemo room..wished we had a Pirate Room. The pool here is what we loved the most, though, and we made time in our busy schedule to swim almost every day it was so much fun!!

Sorry to hear about your lack of sleep, we always take something to make sure we get sleep the night before or we would be just like you...:hyper:

Can't wait to read more!!

The main pool is wonderful! Unfortunately we only spent one afternoon there. I did take something for the sleep! Nothing to heavy because I'm very afraid of those sleeping pills like Lunesta, I've heard horrible stories if people doing things while they were alseep :scared1: But I take something called Calms Forte and its from Hyland's all natural. Usually it helps but not this time.

Yeah it was, but at night it look very cool when only the bathroom light was on, the skull sort of glowed. But he was having none of it, so away it went.

I'm glad my TR is getting you excited, I wish I could go back already! That's why I'm writing this updates so quickly I don't want it to end. :worried:

After exploring the room the boys relaxed while I unpacked our carry-ons. I ordered from garden grocer for the first time for this trip and I had received an email from GG saying that our order would be at the hotel around noon and that it would be left at bell services. Since it was after noon when I was done unpacking I called bell services to check on our delivery. Sure enough it had arrived and someone was going to bring it right up.

While we waited for the delivery to come up we talked about what to do the rest of the afternoon. Our options were to go swimming after lunch, or head out to DTD earlier than we had planned and take our time looking around. As we were talking about going to DTD I remembered that there is an AMC theatre down there. John is a huge, HUGE comic book fan, he's collected them since he was a kid its his one big hobby. The Avenger's was released the Friday before the trip and there was no way we could fit it in to our plans before Disney. Now that we were at Disney it was a different story; so I asked him if he thought the Avenger's would be too much for Michael. He replies that he doesn't know. I felt really bad that he missed seeing it on Friday, so I said well we can go watch here today, and if its too much for Michael I can always just leave with him. He was up for it so I checked the show times on my phone and what do you know there was a 2:30 showing. We agreed to grab a quick lunch at the food court and head out to DTD.

The food court at CBR has different stations and each stations has different types of food. We decided on the Hamburger Shop:

I got the Bacon Cheeseburger:
IMG_1512.jpg

This was ok, nothing to spectacular. It came with a side and I asked for what I though was a regular salad, but it was pasta salad:
IMG_1513.jpg

I really did not like this.

John had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwhich with fries:
IMG_1511.jpg

He said this was good, I tasted it and yes it was good much better than my burger. Spicy though so if you don't like spice this is not for you ;)

Lastly Michael had Chicken Nuggets and French Fries in a pail:
IMG_1510.jpg

After we ate we were on our way to DTD and we were on a mission. We arrived to DTD close to 2. I mentioned in my PTR that we have only ever visited the Marketplace in DTD and that is why we got off the bus and just started walking towards AMC which would have been fine if it wasn't all the way in the Westside. :faint: We really didn't realize how far it would be so pretty soon we were speed walking. We didn't change out of our traveling clothes and boy it was hot! We made it to theatre at 2:20. :thumbsup2 We were sweaty hot messes, but we made it. I go up to the ticket girl and say "Two adult tickets, and one child for the 2:30 Avengers Showing" She looks at me and says "Sorry that show is sold out" WHAT!?!?! So she says the next showing is at 7:45 which was too late for us and would interfere with our other plans for the evening.

I felt really bad for John and he was really trying to not show me his disappointment by saying "now we really have a lot of time to browse", but I know he was. So I said "we can come and see on Friday, that's our no plans day". He agreed and that was that. Now we had the whole afternoon to explore DTD, which was another first for us.

Awww:sad:I hope you make it back avengers was great. We plan to see Dark Shadows while there.popcorn::

Subbing. Sorry you missed out on the movie. I hope you got to do it later in the week. My dd and I are going to WDW in Sept and staying at CBR. This is our first trip to WDW. We are so excited. I hope to squeeze in a movie at the AMC while we are there too. I look forward to your review of that.

And let me just say that little boy of yours is an absolute doll. Can't wait to read more.

Great report! We've stayed at CBR twice now, and are heading back for our third stay in a little under three weeks :cool1:. We love it! We have not done the pirate rooms because our youngest FREAKED when she saw the shower curtain in one of the planning videos... oh well! They look like fun pirate:. I'm glad you had such a nice time, and I had to nod in agreement about the Disney insomnia. Midway through my trip I inevitably force myself into a Nyquil coma to finally sleep. I'm glad (?) to know others experience the same issues.

Looking forward to reading more from a fellow Yankees fan!

Dark Shadows sounds like fun. I love movies! John and I used to go once a week when we were dating. After we got married not so much, and after we had Michael we rarely go. I miss it but its ok we just wait for them to come on cable. Once and awhile there is one movie we just have to see.

Thank you! Yes having a movie theatre there is very nice and such a great idea. I'm sure when the bowling alley opens it will also be a huge hit.

Nice report and Yankee fans to boot.
Thanks!
Go Yankees!

Yeah that curtain is pretty intense, but you can always pull it open(closed?), because those rooms are very cool. Yay, for your upcoming trip! I might have to try your Nyquil trick because I had sleep issues during the whole trip but more on that later.

That macaroni salad looked gross....I hate prepacked stuff like that! I think the food court at CBR was the only thing we weren't too keen on. It took us a week to get used to it, we were so used to the one at POP that we were confused by the set up, and we found the food to be just meh.

So I have been MIA for a bit. I had a couple of exciting weeks, and not necessarily exciting in a good way. My son had a viral infection two weeks ago and it took him some time to shake it off. Then I took 2 of 3 certification exams. (I had take one already.) For those of you who don't know I'm going to school to for my masters in education both general and special ed grades 1-6. This has been a big deal for me as its also a career change. It was something that I really wanted to do and finally just decided to do it. I plan on graduating next May and these exams are part of the requirement. That is what has been keeping me away.

Joining in! :cool1: Great TR so far. We just love CBR! :goodvibes

Welcome back! I see you started your TR as well, I'll hop over there a bit later. ;)

It was gross! We felt the same about the food court. How was the food at Pop? We are considering it for our next trip.

your trip report is very interesting.

Welcome! Thank you!

We left off with us getting ready to explore DTD. We started at the Harley Davidson shop, to make my inner biker happy. ;) Then we moved on to D Street, and the candy shop. After John wanted to try Characters in Flight, but I didn't think Michael was ready for that so we stopped and watched as it went up in the air, and came back down. Then everything hit me all at once, the lack of sleep, the heat and the speed walking all of sudden I was exhausted. I told John that we should just take one of the Boats back to the Marketplace. So walked over to the dock and waited.

We waited about twenty minutes for a boat. When we first arrived it was just an elderly couple waiting in front of us, by the time the boat arrived there must have been about 30 people on line. Once we were on, I started feeling a bit better. I kicked off my slip on sneakers for a bit and noticed that I was getting blisters on my feet. I'm a flip flop kind of girl but because the plane is sometimes cool I decided on the sneakers... big mistake all that walking and the heat had caused the blisters. So I told John I might have to get some flip flops when we got to the Marketplace.

Some pictures along the way:

When we got to the Marketplace, Michael started complaining that his feet were hurting. At first I thought he had heard me and was copying me (as three year olds do), but I stopped and checked his feet and sure enough he also was getting blisters. :sad2: So it we headed straight to World of Disney. I found a pair of crocs flip flops for me, and a pair of crocs for Michael, but they didn't have our sizes. I asked a CM if they had our sizes maybe in the back but she said that whatever they had was out and suggested I check at Team Mickeys.
So we went to Team Mickeys and they didn't even have crocs! John suggested I check at Tend-D. I found many flip flops there but none that appealed to me. So I gave up, Michael had fallen asleep in his stroller at this point and I was just tired. John decided he wanted to some ice cream at Ghiradelli's so we went to do that. As we sat and waited for his order to come I decided to go check at WOD of Disney again. I was so happy I did, I found exactly what I wanted in the right sizes. :cool1: I was so happy, and once I changed into my new comfy flip flops my mood changed, I was ready to keep exploring. But first John had to finish his hot fudge sundae; I was saving my appetite for Raglan Road so he was flying solo on that one.

Once John was done we headed to the Christmas Shop, Basin, Spice & Tea, Mickey's Pantry. We bought an ornament for our tree, and some Mickey Soap.

Once we were done shopping we decided to start walking over to Pleasure Island. It was still pretty early but I figured we would take our time.
IMG_1525.jpg

As John and I walked we talked and made some more plans. As we chatted away someone was still snoozing:
IMG_1194.jpg

Eventually we reached Pleasure Island, so we sat on a bench and people watched until Michael woke up. Which was about 15 minutes after, and boy was he cranky! :scared1:

I realized he was probably hungry, I checked my watch and it was only 5:15 our reservations was for 6:45. I told John let's just try it they might let us eat early. We got there and I explained that we were really early but if they could accommodate us we would be very grateful, the CM told us it was no problem and we were seated very quickly.

Now I have heard really great reviews of Raglan Road and was very excited to try it. Well all you Raglan Road lovers are right this place was great! If you haven't been go, you won't be disappointed. Now for some pictures:

IMG_1534.jpg

Bread with oil with Malt Vinegar(?) I didn't write this down, and don't remember. We didn't use it at all so I can't even tell you about the taste.

IMG_1536.jpg

Mighty Mussels - 1/2 pound of fresh Blue Hill bay mussels in a coconut infused curry broth. These were good, the curry threw me a bit but after awhile you get used it to.

IMG_1537.jpg

Kiss Before Prawns – Pan seared prawns in a garlic & chili lemon butter sauce with crostinis. YUM, that is all there is to it.

As we were eating our appetizers the dancers came around did their show, and then asked the kids that were in our area if they wanted to dance. Michael said he did, and we have a very cute video of him dancing with one of the dancers. If I can figure out how to get video on here I will post it (any suggestions?) Back to the food:

IMG_1539.jpg

Salmon of Knowledge - Baked Atlantic salmon fillet topped with smoked salmon, served with a maple glaze. This was also very good!

IMG_1540.jpg

John ordered the Fish and Chips w/o chips. He asked for a salad instead here's a picture of that:
IMG_1541.jpg

He liked everything but was starting to feel full... (remember the sundae?)

IMG_1542.jpg

Michael just had the grilled chicken from the Kids menu.

For Dessert John and I shared the Bread Pudding, which is AMAZING. Believe the Hype!
IMG_1546.jpg

Michael had the fruit Salad

After dinner we walked back to the Marketplace. Everyone was pretty content it had been a good day despite a few snags. We walked back to the buses and made it just in time before it started storming. Once we were back at CBR we straight to bed.

UP NEXT: A Disney Jr. Morning

Great update! :goodvibes Looks like a beautiful day. That's the day we left to come home. I ended up with a big blister on my heal this trip. I even had flip flops on. :confused3 I'm blaming it on the intense heat we had our entire trip! :faint:

Your DS must have loved his meal at RR, he looks so happy!

You should ride the hot air balloon next time. We finally did it and it was awesome! :thumbsup2

Whew...I was worried that we had lost you for good! So glad that you got your exams done...and now you can enjoy the summer!:thumbsup2

Love that pic of you in the Mad Hatter's hat!! You're looking good, girl! So happy to be on vacation, right?;) Sorry you had some foot problems, it's touch and go sometimes with the heat and all that walking, I hope it doesn't make the rest of your week unbearable. BTW, love my Croc flip flops!:thumbsup2

And now, on to my fave....Raglan Rd!! So glad you guys decided to eat here....isn't the food awesome!!!??? I think if you want to post the video you need to put it up on photobucket like your pics. Give it a shot, I would love to see Michael do an Irish Jig!! Oh, and that oil they give you with your bread has a Guinness reduction in it....love it!!!

Ugh the heat was pretty bad, and I love the heat I was just not expecting it to be so hot those days. DS was a little weird that night he would have moments when he was really excited (like the dancing) and moments when he was not happy at all and just wanted to sip on his lemonade. He did enjoy his dessert thought ;)

Yes I'm glad those exams are done, I won't know the results for a month so thats annoying! I have a few more things to get done before I can complete all the requirements but those are mostly essays and I really just have to sit down and do them one night.

I loved that hat! I thought about getting it but decided to wait and see if I found anything else I liked better. I know am a lover of croc flip flops also!

Raglan Road... :cloud9: what can I say I loved it! You will find as the this TR progresses that you and I have very similar taste in Restaurants. I will try to post the video later. Thanks for the tip. I thought it was Guinness but I didn't write down so I thought maybe I was just remembering incorrectly. :confused3

I'm here to read along!! Liking it so far! Your arrival day sounds like a pretty good day, I never really like planning a whole lot for the first day, esepcially since we get there after 4! It's the day to relax and explore, right?!

Excited for more!

Welcome! Yes, a relaxing 1st day is the way to go... every time we go I think we should do less and less ;). Last year arrival day was also our DHS day, and it was so stressful I said never again. This year we thought arrival day should be DTD day as well, and while it was very relaxing for the most part, I'm thinking next trip arrival day should be just arrival day!.

Anything with Guinness is good!!
guinnessimages.jpg

Ha ha DH would totally agree with you! I find it very bitter... but my grandmother makes a great drink with it and condensed milk... which I completely love!
