Can someone pleaseeee post a picture of the Castle or I won't see it until October. I'm very curious to see how it looks. I went for 25 yr. with the pink B'day cake, Yuck. Aslong as it's not pink then it is good I guess. Thanks

I think it's absolutely gorgeous, I love it. It's perfect for the celebration at hand. But I want the decorations to come down, and have the castle go back to it's classic state and be ready to be decorated for the next big celebration.

I agree with alot of poster already said..love the gold decorations & would like to see them stay up...just take down the mirror.

I'm old-school and a traditionalist at heart. I would prefer they revert to the clean lines of the original rather than all the bling bling. Besides, I think the point of the structure is to evoke the imagination of children. In my opinion, Cinderella's castle now doesn't look like a place where Cindy would actually live -- it looks like a fairy tale on steroids. JMHO.

I never thought I'd think this because I've always hated it when they've "messed with" the castle before (I still have nightmares about that birthday cake thing they did with the castle years ago), but I think the gold and characters are wonderful and I'll miss it if/when they return it to the original.

Count me in as a traditionalist...

I was just saying to my sister the other day that I can't wait until the castle is back to normal. Part of that is because I've been to WDW four times since May (that's my own fault :) )

I also wish they would take that darn rogue arm and wand off Spaceship Earth. There's no sign in the park at MK (or anywhere else for that matter) that says "You are in _____park." I don't need a reminder I'm at Epcot. Plus, Mickey's arm just looks plain weird. It was fine with the 2000, but please, for the love of God, take it off!

And since I'm really on a rampage now, I think the Sorcerer Hat at MGM is spiffy and all, but I wish it wouldn't block the sight line of GMR. It is really a shame that they couldn't have found something else to do with it. It's an awfully big pin kiosk :teeth:

JMHO :thumbsup2

I am sorry but I really don't like it how it is... in fact last time i went I was with my ex. It was his first time at WDW and when we were looking at the castle he said "what are they doing with it?" I was confused, but then totally agreed with what he was saying. The swirls around the pilars look like construction skeleton.. like they're working on something. The characters are cute but I hate the mirror and swirls.. the castle is gorgeous as it is.. clean and plain like it was in the movie. I wish they'd leave it be. Change the landscaping or other buildings but the castle is MK's icon. Why mess with it?

I also hate the wand on the EPCOT ball.

ew I sound negative. Sorry. Just my opinion:)

I guess different strokes for different folks, but OMG ! What were they thinking turning the castle into a giant cake? It was a monstrosity! Just think of all those poor princesses who came from all over the world to see the castle, and were instead greeted by......that. Thank goodness they took it all down.

I can take or leave the new decorations. They're nice for a party, but long term I'm siding with all you traditionalists. After the party, let's take 'em down and get ready for the next (hopefully) great thing!!

And don't even get me started on Mickey's arm. :furious:

Ok, I will stand alone and admit it, "My name is Teresa, and I liked the pink cake." Whew, I feel better getting that off my chest!

I like the gold on the castle, but I hope they don't leave the mirror, it's ok for now, but it should come down.

As for the arm at EPCOT, why on earth (hehe get it?) is it still there??? I hate it! I also hate the hat at MGM, but not as passionately as I did when they first put it in. I just wish it wasn't blocking the view.

Surprisingly I like it, although I hate the madallion (mirror) whatever you want to call it, in the front. I look at it and I see a billboard.

Whether I want it to stay, probably not, but I do find it very whimsical. Love the peak with Windy and the boys flying to Never-Neverland.

No more birthday cakes. I actually threw-away my pictures of that nightmare. I don't drink but I swear I was seeing Pink.

I'll be the dissenter here. I like the Castle au naturel. I hope that it is back to that when we go back in Decmeber. It looks more "authentic" without all the swirls on it. Whatever happens my dd will love it anyway!

I'm with you.

Does anyone know if there's an official date of the Happiest Celebration ending? Will the gold ears and special decorations still be there when I arrive in 6 weeks?

Thanks!

I believe the celebration officially ends September 30, 2006. You will see the castle all decorated when you visit. Have fun!

I think it looks a lot better with the gold trimmings. The first time my wife saw the castle was on our honeymoon and she did what the big deal was about the castle. When we went to WDW last year she thought the castle looked great. She said that the castle a lot more striking this time.

Pleeease,leave it like that! :p

I haven't had the chance to see it yet!But I'm going on December and I would love to see it..The pictures of the castle in this way are just wonderfull!
