Leave MK before MVMCP Starts?

If we are in the MK and the park is open til 6pm and MVMCP begins at 7pm do we need to exit the park if we have tickets? I have read several conflicting posts about how this is handled? I also read about having dinner at Liberty Tree, making ressies for 6pm and then heading out for MVMCP. Has anyone done this? Was it available in 2002?

You won't have to leave the park. You will be able to get your wristbands starting around 5:00, and if you're wearing them you'll be able to stay in the park. Eating at LTT while you're waiting for the festivities to begin is a great way to spend the time - we did the same thing this past December, 2002.

Last year there was a dinner package offered for MVMCP and LTT. We didn't do the package so I'm not sure of all the details. I am pretty sure you had to book the dinner package at the same time you bought your MVMCP tickets, though. I am sure there are more here who can give you better information. We have APs and entered the park around 2:30 on the day of our MVMCP. We rode rides, saw the parade, and did a few other things. At about 4 we returned to Guest Services and got our wristbands for the party. We didn't have to exit the park. They did direct all the party goers who were already in the park to the Tomorrowland area at the time the park was closing for regular guests. Then when the party was starting the whole park opened. I must say that MVMCP was a true highlight for us. We will go back in December 2004 and can't wait. It was a very special night. Have a great time!

Last year they admitted people with MVMCP tickets at 4:00pm and distributed wrist bands. At 6:00pm, they had the regular fireworks and then asked people without wristbands to exit. Those with wristbands were permitted to go to Tomorrowland, where the rides were open. At 7:00pm the entire park reopened for the party. We got there about 4:30pm, so we had about 90 minutes to ride before the close and lines were very short. Good way to get a jump on the party. One thing though, we missed the snow on Main Street because we went from Tomorrowland to Fantasyland at 7:00pm. I thought the snow fell all night, but it stopped when we left after the fireworks.

Maybe there was a problem the night you were there...the snow was falling on Main Street after the fireworks the night we were there.

I got my wristband around 4PM, then when the park closed I stood in line with the other pin traders at Main Street Exposition Hall, then got another wrist band to buy the MVMCP Limited Edition Framed Pin Set.
