Leave in a week, and I just got the flu! Need some reassurance

Please tell me I'll be better by the time we leave.
Last trip I got sick on the 3rd day of our WDW vacation and we sick the whole time. We had a great time (I was hopped up on sudafed the whole time to make it through the day) but I barely remember it.
I would love to be well this time!
It started with a sore throat, and now I have that overall blah sick feeling. Very weak, like the life has been sucked out of me. I had a troat swab at the Dr. which should be ready by tomorrow, I guess to see if it's bacterial or viral and if I can be medicated.
Any hints or tips to get well fast? I'm bummed sitting here at home feeling sick and worried

I know what you're going through! When we were down in Dec. 03 I was 7 months pregnant, and me and three of the kids and my dad got the flu. It was terrible!

This time I was paranoid about everyone getting sick again and what happens last week. STREP! I have it, DH, and 3 of the kids! My oldest son just got anitbiotics yesterday so hopefully he'll start feeling better. I just hope the other kids don't catch it now or I'll be having to make calls and run around getting medicine.

You symptoms sound exactly just like mine and my kids. My rapid strep test came back negative, but my doc always sends it out to be cultured for like two days and that came back positive. I guess there are some strains that the Rapid test doesn't catch. Positive note if it is Strep, atleast you will start feeling better after 24 hours on an antibiotic, so you will be fine for your trip.

Right now I'm at the point where if I get up to walk to the bathroom I feel like i just ran a marathon!
I'll find out soon and hope my DH doesn't get it. He is avoiding me like the plauge. Actually he's calling me 'plauge monkey' right now. How endearing
He doesn't want to get sick because he's booked for a few expensive wine tastings and wants to be able to taste (everything he gets makes him congested)
