Do you think that leave a legacy is worth it? I would like to get a tile done of DH and I when we visit in NOvember as it will be our first trip as a married couple and i think it would be a nice think to show our kids.......eventually when we get some!

Your opinions on this would be much appreciated. Also if anyone has any costs that would be great.
Thanks

I love my Leave a Legacy tile! My DH and I left it on our Dec of 2000 trip and we didn't get to see it until our Oct 2003 trip! It was neat going up and visiting ourselves! I feel like I'm always in Disney with that tile there. I am going to leave one with my Dad on this next trip. The price isn't bad, and there are many ways to get a discount (AAA, DVC...).

Go for it!

i think you might find you're disappointed if you don't leave a legacy and return in a year or ten and not have a picture to look at...

we still kick ourselves for not buying a brick when we had a chance to have it in the main entrance area of MK...

:(

We just did this with our two DDs on our September trip. I definitely think it's worth it. They send a copy of the picture (in miniature) after you return home. I've told my girls that they are now part of "an attraction" in Epcot. It's not expensive (we did ours as part of our package), so I say go for it!

We really wanted to buy a brick too...but by the time we got to WDW for our honeymoon, they stopped doing the brick thing and introduced L-A-L.

During our honeymoon, we were really against it, we didn't want to put our pic on a slab of granite like a tombstone...but the following year, when we went back, we couldn't resist.

Like alot of ppl, we wanted for our kids (Like Gems, I say "when we have some") to go visit WDW and check out the LaL when we're gone and think of happy thoughts instead. So DH and I caved in and got it done. With the AP, it gave us a 20% discount, I think it was about $25 for 2 people. It was quick, they took our picture and a month or so later, we got the confirmation and tile number in the mail. When we went back in May, we say it and we couldn't stop laughing. We were so excited and the pic. came out nice...it's a great idea and we were thinking about getting another one.

Have a GREAT time!!!!

I had a tile made with a picture of my dad and I for his Christmas presents a few years ago. We got a discount (AAA I believe) and it only cost us about $30 (this is when it was relatively new). It costs more than that to eat out at a decent restaurant! We look at it every time he visits FL, and its kinda neat to know that your image is at Disney World - even when you're not. :)
BTW - I also got a Leave A Legacy pin and they mail you a copy of the image on a clean transparency in a cardboard frame - so you do get something to take home with you to show your friends & family.
The cost is now $25 per tile. You can either have your picture take or have a message inscribed. Annual & Season passholders buy one get one free.

I think I will deffinatley get one done, I might give it to DH as his anniversary pressie! kill two birds with one stone so to speak!:teeth:

We love our LAL!! We got it a couple of years ago on my fiance's first Disney trip. Since then we have been back with friends and faimly and have shown it off to all. It is so nice to feel like a part of the magic all year round. We also feel that when we have kids it'll be cool to show them. It's something sentimental and I'm so glad we did it!

My sister and I had our 2 kids picture together made into a tile in 2000. Does anyone know how I can find out where the tile is located (preferably before we go). We might have to get them done again, since I have another child now & she has 2 more since then!

Thanks

You should have received a copy of the picture w/it's location in the mail a few weeks after it was taken.

We forgot to bring the tile location on our last trip, so we just went to the leave a legacy kiosk and asked, they pulled it up and gave it to us.

We were thinking about doing one of these the last time we were there. We just assumed they were very costly and never checked them out.

We purchased one this past May. Unfortunately, just days before we were to leave for WDW, my Mom passed away after a long 10 year battle with Alzheimer's at 64. We rescheduled for two weeks later than originally planned. We really wanted to do something during that trip to remember her by. We bought a tile in her memory. Now every time we go to WDW we'll know she is with us. Not only can we enjoy it so can all her friends and relatives. We are going again in December and we'll be purchasing one for ourselves this time. Don't know why we didn't do this a long time ago.

BTW--I never received notification or a copy of the tile. I purchased at the end of May. Shouldn't I have rec'd. something by now? I'm hoping it will be up when we get there in December. Does anyone know who I can contact to verify and get a copy?

Thanks.

Michele

We just did LAL last week for the first time.
The guy that helped us said that it would take 2 weeks for them to send us a copy of the picture and where it was located. Then it would take 3 months for it actually to get put up.

He also said something else interesting I hadn't heard yet. The Leave A Legacy things aren't forever..... they will take them down in the year 2020. They then plan on doing something different in place of them. He wasn't sure what would be done with them if anything.

The cost for us was 2 tiles for $25. AP rate I guess. Since there was the 4 of us, we did our boys together and then me and my husband together. It was fun..... and I am looking forward to seeing them when I go back in January.
Wow... in the year 2020, my boys will be 22 and 26 !! Oh my :earseek: !!!!

I agree. Me and my DW did this on our honeymoon this past April. I kind of got worried when paperwork did not come, but finally it did. It tells you where your tile is located and what it looks like. We cannot wait to see it in December.

We got one tile on our last trip, and hopefully will get a couple more on the next trip. I think it's great!! Ours was $25. I think if you have an AP you get two for that price.

We have three tiles, one of which has our 2 children on it. They love running to it each trip as we enter EPCOT. It's fun for them to find and fun for us to watch how much they enjoy it. Definately worth the money!::MinnieMo

I assume that the tiles are placed randomly but if you purchase 2-3 at the same time will they be placed together?

This looks like a great substitution for the anniversary Rehitchin' Ceremony I was planning.

I am planning on using the "Wish" feature that comes with our DreamMaker pkg. to purchase a L-A-L tile. Can anyone who has done the same walk me through the process, please? A PM or email would be most appreciated. Thanks! :sunny:

i think it's worth it. the price is very reasonable and it's something special to do. i look at it like this, i can't always be at wdw but part of me is always there, just like part of wdw is always with me! its also fun if u know people who are traveling to have them take pix of ur legacy for you. the search for another legacy is always a fun activity.
