OK, I voted "I love it" no so much because I think it's really attractive or anything, but it's something that my DM and I got with our package in Dec 2003, and my DM was very ill (she passed away in Feb 2004), so for me it holds a lot of meaning - a memorial to my last trip with DM that I can visit on every future trip. DM and I shared our loved of WDW, and that's why I drag DH down every time I can (and then spead my love to DNiece and DNephew, and then to friends, etc.)

I voted "love it" although it's not quite that strong a feeling! I always enjoy visiting my best friends picture there (she's a huge WDW fan) and it makes for a great meeting spot..."meet at Birdie's picture".

This is the new large brownish, monolith looking things in front of Epcot where you pay money to get a thumbnail size black and white picture thing.

I know some of you have put your pictures on there, and I don't mean to upset anyone, but honestly I think they look more like a war memorial, the pictures are barely recognizable from what I've seen and so tiny, I wonder whats the point.

I also wonder if people who don't know what it is go up and think "are these people dead?"

Am I the only one who thinks this way?

I don't mind the Leave A Legacy.. not in the right location. It's just an obstacle to me. They should put it to the side somewhere. I liked it better when the entrance was open and clear. They do look like a war memorial wall. And the pictures are so tiny, especially when there's two people in one square.

I really hate them, I do everything possible to avoid that entrance altogether since they've been built. I even strongly dislike the color of the stones they are mounted on. If i really wanted to see a memorial I could vacation in DC. I realize they can't demolish them, but they should move them to a less prominent part of the park.

I love it!!!

My girls have a tile, and it makes me smile to think that they can take their children to see it someday. :)

I love it, but not in that location. Like many other said, it needs to be off to the side some where. Quite the eyesore.

We received a free LAL as part of a package in 2004. DGS and I are up there now. We got a kick out of seeing ourselves in 2005. I am happy to think that when DGS is 26 years old, he will still be able to see that little snapshot in time when he and his grandma took a silly little picture. Those silly little pictures seem to grown in sentimental value over time.

I too wish they would bring back the bricks, but the photos are nice. That said, I don't mind the hand so much, but I also loved the castle cake, so there ya go. ;)

It's very odd. They really do remind me of tombstones (and I've heard people refer to that area of the park as The Tombstones). That said, DH and I will most likely have our pix there eventually, just because Epcot is our favorite park in one of our favorite places on earth. :goodvibes I voted the 3rd choice.

I think it is an utter and complete eye sore. The color of the marble, along with the size of those things. It makes the entrance to EPCOT look very cluttered and unapproachable. I liked it better when it was just all open and you could stand there and appreciate the grandure of the ball without the hastle. Good idea, poorly implemented.

Just this engineers opinion I guess though.

I voted 3rd option... I think it is an eyesore... but I think it's a cool idea... they just need to find a betteer way to impliment it... like maybe pt them into the ground... covered by plexiglass or something... or in a building (that's airconditioned) so people can take their time if they "want" to see them

I don't like it at all. Do you think they'll ever take them away? Please!

I like the bricks better but they no longer can be bought. I don't mind the Leave A Legacy "monument" and I maybe looked at a few of the pictures, etc.... but I don't think it is very interesting unless YOU have a picture there. Soooo... I guess it doesn't really bother me. Probably cool for those who want to look at it as a happy memory. Obviously it is successful or Disney wouldn't continue the program!

Yea, they are smaller than I thought, but how much are they anyway? I'm not sure if anyone already wrote it, I didn't read the whole thread.

Don't know if asked yet...How much does LAL cost? Just curious.

I agree with so many others - I like the idea but I do not like the way Disney did it. The bricks at MK are so much better than those little tiles. I wish they would move LAL to some other place inside Epcot and clean up the entrance.

I voted for Love It because my wife and I did it during our honeymoon in 2002. It was included in our package at that time, so we didn't pay OOP. I would like to show my DD5 when we take her for her first trip in Feb 07.

Does anyone know how to find where your picture is posted if you no longer have the information. Is there a computer system that will point you to the location?

It doesn't bother me. Since the whole front part of Epcot is Future World, I think the design and style of it fits rather nicely.

I do like the bricks better and wish we could have done that.

I think it would be neat to see each park do something like this with a design relevant to the park itself. Bricks for MK make sense...with Main Street and all.
The futuristic design of Leave a Legacy makes sense for Epcot.
Maybe mini stars for MGM?
Can't quite think of anything for AK...maybe areas like Epcot has but in the design of trees where people can have their faces and/or names on an individual leaf (a small one so it could fit a ton). I don't know...just randomly thinking.

tony609 I just found it:

Leave a Legacy

The Leave a Legacy program, held over from Disney's Millennium Celebration, invites guests to leave their mark on the park. This cluster of odd monoliths inside Epcot's main entrance is covered with images of Walt Disney World guests etched on one-inch square tiles on massive stone walls. To purchase a tile, inquire at the kiosk within the Leave a Legacy vicinity. One tile costs $25. Each additional tile costs $20.

It doesn't bother me, I don't really care either way. Even though DH and I received one as part of our package on our honeymoon. We went back to see it on the last trip, and even took a picture, but we can't find us on the picture!

DH and I joined Leave a Legacy in fall of 1999. It's fun to see our photo there each time we visit. This past March my DS, DN(ephew), and I started out WDW vacation at EPCOT. My husband couldn't join us this time, so we took a digi photo of us visiting the "plot" and emailed it to DH. So, yes, it's sort of a memorial, but I like it...
