Least inconvenient transportation options

One of my favorite resorts in the park is the Caribbean Beach Resort. I have stayed there numerous times and love the entire atmosphere...but waiting for the buses to take us to the different parks or even just the in-resort shuttle is such a hassle. I've never stayed at Coronado or Port Orleans, do these resorts have easier transportation options? If we don't get to book AKL, I would rather pick a moderate resort. Thanks for all your help :)

I think Coronado is as spread out and big as CBR. They also have an internal bus system. We stayed at POFQ last year, and we liked it there. Very compact resort for a moderate. Not a long walk anywhere. And although it shares busses with POR Riverside, the FQ is the first pick up which made it more convenient. They had a boat to DTD also.

Best transportation in my opinion are the resorts along the monorail and in the Epcot area where you have a very short walk into Epcot, a little longer walk to MGM or the option to take a friendship boat.

Another thumbs up for POFQ. We stayed in Building 1, which is one of the furthest from the lobby and bus stop, but it was a very quick walk (less than five minutes when tired at the end of the day). Also, POFQ has only one bus stop. During busier times, busses seemed to be stopping only at POFQ and then heading straight toward the park. During slower times, the bus would pick us up at POFQ and then make 3 stops at POR before heading to the park. Taking the boat to DTD was a very relaxing thing to do in the evening.

Only downside, IMO, is that POFQ has no sit-down restaurant. You either have to walk or take the boat to POR to eat at Boatwrights (quick walk of 10-15 mins along the river path -- beautiful walk). Or take the boat to DTD where you have many dining choices for dinner (boat only runs after 4 p.m.). POFQ does have a decent food court.

I have stayed at CBR and CSR and CSR by far has the best bus system I have seen at a resort.(We have utilized many of the buses at different resorts when resort-hopping). CSR is spread out like CBR but they only have 3 sections each with a stop and the main area has a stop. The last two trips to CSR we never waited for buses, never stood on buses and always had pleasant experiences on buses to and from CSR. When we stayed at CBR, though we loved the resort, the buses were horrible....we often waited for a bus only to not be able to get on b/c it got filled up halfway around the CBR's different villages. We stood many times to and from the parks and we found their system to be mediocre at best.
Highly recommend CSR!!! Have not stayed at PO but a lot of people love it-it is smaller so they probably have a better bus system than CBR as well. :)

hehe I don't have a license. I live in NY so I don't need one...Plus, I thought you had to be 26 to rent a car...I'm only 24... but thanks for all your help everyone!! I think I might start looking into POFQ. If not, I'm just going to splurge a bit more and get a Deluxe.

We found the busses at CSR outstanding. It is the ONLY resort I've stayed in where the busses were not standing room only.

I agree w/ your take on CBR. It just seems to take forever, to go around to all the bus stops. Yes, CSR, is big, but not quite as big as CBR, and only 4 stops.

We stayed at POR in 1999 and had nothing but trouble with the bus system. We had very long waits going to the parks. It was horrible, and we will never go back to POR for that reason. We have never stayed at CSR, but we love CBR. We have always had great bus service plus we love the tropical themeing. Good luck with your choice. :sunny:
