We are staying at Animal Kingdom lodge and are wondering what the least costly way to get to the outlet mall? Renting a car for the day is around $40. We have no idea how much a taxi would cost, but someone mentioned that you should goto downtown Disney then take a taxi to the outlet mall, then back to downtown Disney then back to the hotel. Has anyone done this? cost? worth it?
Thanks for all the help, 5 more Michigan sleeps and we are there!!

I don't know why you would take a bus to DTD to catch a taxi, when you can get a taxi in front of the resort.

Mears is the taxi company at Disney and you can go to their website and they have a trip fare calculator type thing. Last I checked, it wasn't working to enter in specific addresses, but they have a pull down menu with some pre-populated choices (the malls are some of those) that you can use to get an estimate at least.

I'd be shocked if RT taxi fare was less than the $40 you could spend to rent a car. If not more, it's probably very close.

The cheapest way is the public Lynx bus but I'm not familiar with the route. A taxi will be $40 EACH way or more, so if you can get a rental for $40 a day that is your best bet, if you don't want to use public transportation.

Go to MK. Take the ferry boat or monorail to the TTC, and catch the # 50 bus. You can get a schedule at the information boothe at the TTC. The busses run every 1/2 hour. Get a free transfer, tell the driver where you are going and transfer to the #42 to the Premium Outlet Mall. It should cost about $2.00 pp.

Another option is catch the bus to Downtown Disney, walk across the street to a hotel and catch a free shuttle to Lake Buena Vista factory stores.
