Hello everybody! I’m trying to figure out what the least crowded week of 2018 will be that will include the full Christmas experience. We will have 5 day hoppers and be attending Monday thru Friday.

My instinct is to go the week after Thanksgiving. But I believe there are no AP blackouts that week. Would it be better to go closer to Christmas when most APs won’t be there?

Any help would be great, thanks!

I had friends who went the weekdays following Thanksgiving and they said that was a good time to go. Crowds were definitely manageable.
If we go again next holiday season I plan on going that week.

The week after Thanksgiving is good. The issue is that Candlelight Processional often hits at the end of that week and crowds are crazy for that.

The three weeks after Thanksgiving will be good for visiting with prepared expectations..............and 2018 is the only year those weeks will be good for a long time.

*Thanksgiving is at earlist date in 2018 for a long time, I researcedh to 2023 and that year does not reach Nov 22.
*Rumors for the next decade of Christmas crowding will abound, from being empty (2018) to being very crowded,( 2019, because a whole week has disappeared) eventually settling in that all weeks for Christmas are crowded

We went several times recently the week BEFORE thanksgiving and it was amazing, even with starting during the Star Wars marathon over Veteran's day...it wasn't bad at all and WAY less crowded than our trips in December (once the 2nd week of Dec and last year the 1st week of Dec). And bonus, the weather is still usually warm enough for shorts & tanks before Thanksgiving!

This year I visited the parks the week after fall Dapper Day, which was Nov. 5 and it was nice, reasonable crowds. Holidays were in full swing although they didn't officially start until the Friday of that week. I can't remember if IASW was open yet. I also visited the week after Thanksgivivg and it was totally dead... that was the best week all year for me.

If you want to see the hotels decorated it's better to go after Thanksgiving. That gets done last.

We made the genius decision to go the week before Xmas because all the APs were blocked. Oh. My. Gosh. I have never seen the parks that crowded and I went right after RSR opened. Never. Again.
