We just got back from our Easter Break vacation and it was soooooo crowded!! I want to plan a grand gathering for 17 family members and DON"T want to go when it's super crowded. When would be the best month to visit and still be able to enjoy the waterparks, etc. Any ideas??:)

In my opinion that would be between May 10th and May 20th or between September 10th and September 20th.

Least crowded times (considering both parks and ease of making DVC reservations at 7 months) would be January (after the first weekend) through mid-February (before Presdient's week), May & September.

Except Sept 10-20th is during hurricane season. But I'll agree on May 10-20th.

If you can get there after Easter if over and before school is out, you should have a less busy time and you will have warm temperatures. Even January, after the marathon is over, but before the holidays start up might be good. It will be cooler, but you can still swim.

But if you have to worry about school times, early or late summer will be the best you can get.

Thanks for your replies. I think I posted this in the wrong forum :rolleyes1 Should have put it in the planning forum!

We went starting the week of Labor day for the last 3 years until this past Sept. After Monday afternoon, pretty much everything is walk on. We even went on Soarin' mid afternoon three times in a row because there was no wait. It's also plenty hot for the water parks.;)
We love going that time of year, but will have to either go without the kids or wait until they are out of the house since they start school late August and we don't want to take them out so soon after it starts.

Least crowded time at WDW has proven to be every year on May 18, between 2:15 and 2:17 PM, next to the first trash can to your left in Epcot World Showcase. I once saw an empty bench there.

Boy, that's about it! I remember when we went to WDW in late October back in the 80s, it genuinely was quiet. Now, I don't think there is any such time. Although I have to agree that of all the different times of year I've gone, early September seems to be the "least busy".

If you need some time that children can go, there is a discernible difference in crowds the first two weeks of June versus the last two weeks. Around June 16 more people come as more school years have ended. However, the first two weekends in June are really crowded at DHS due to Star Wars Weekends. (The dates for Star Wars weekends do vary.) The other parks are okay even on weekends. They are not empty by any means but not crowded with long lines at every ride/attraction.

You could try looking at the website touringplans.com. I have found them to be very helpful in trip planning.:dance3:

Are you a disney bus driver:rotfl2:

Well, I have been over Labor Day once (last year) and we had to wait for Soarin' and Test Track but not long. We're going in May this year so I can't wait to check out previous poster's comments about the crowds... October isn't too bad for waits, none for Soarin' the three times we rode it and Test Track had no waits either... Now November, well that starts getting a little busier...

Oh yea you made my day!!!!!!! I am going on my 1st dvc vacation May 15 - 21 with my 2 best girlfriends and staying in a 2 bedroom at OKW. No kids, no hubbys (gotta love the 2009 incentive points for joining!) My friends 50th B.day! We are all doing a happy dance!:cool1:

Last year, we went on March 20th for 5 days. It was a few weeks before Easter, so it technically wasn't "really" Spring break time. The weather was spectacular and the crowds weren't bad at all. I wouldn't say it is the least crowded time, but it was manageable.

This year, we went on March 6th for a week. The crowds were similar to last year, but the weather was too cool for me and we had two horrendously rainy days! We swam a couple of days, but I was hoping to spend a few days at the pool on park-less days.
