Learning a lesson the tough way, or Moonsand sucks mom!

I have a few artsy items to add.

First, we LOVE color wonder sets with markers. They are so great, especially when little ones love to color themselves with markers!

We HATE color wonder finger paints - a sticky, waxy mess! Even worse was color wonder explosion. I don't know what my dd did, but she leaned on the page and got the black stuff all over her arms!

Another dud was the paint in the the tubes with the brushes already attached by Elmers (I think). It's too hard for kids to actually squeeze the paint out and the bristles are so stiff, they can barely paint with them anyway. What a jip!

Oh, sock'em boppers! My son begged for those forever! Then he was hitting us with them until I threatened to take them away. And then they sprung a leak and I was secretly happy. I hated those stupid things!

That toy that suppose to stuff the bears dosen't work. My mom sent me out last yr to find this toy for my DN who's 10 and she had to hand stuff the bears. My mom spent like almost 30 bucks and every time DN see's it the store she says "thats a piece of junk" Please save your money.

Agreed! Color Wonder Markers are the best, but the rest is just junk! I always stock up on color wonder stuff for car trips.

my 7 year old son has been having fun making lanyards lately, that's a good cheap craft thing.

This is a great thread! My 4 year old daughter wants everything she sees advertised on tv, including spacebags! :rotfl2:

!

We must have twins, my daughter 4, wants everything icluding space bags too!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

What's wrong with the Aquadots? We already bought them for the holidays for our 6 year old as one of his gifts (obviously not opened yet). Are they messy?

So much for Aquadots. Fun but messy I can tolerate. Fun but deadly gets you brought back to the store!

It was just on the news that aquadots were recalled just wanted to let everyone know.

Thanks for the update... my DDs wanted the Aqua dots.... scratch!

I agree with the poster w/the amazing Allison. YIKES! We opened it Christmas morning.... DD5 really wanted it. Allison 'LOOKS' kind of freaky...... DD8 would not even sleep in the same room with it. If you put it out in the living room... not good enough. Not only did it take forever to figure out how to make it 'somewhat' work it was not that interesting.

Back to basics... DDs play with the $15 babies that do nothing! The $70 Allison is in a closet. I had suggested that we give her away... but DDs decided that she was just to scary to 'frighten' other kids with. :lmao:

What's with the spacebags, my dd5 wants them too! Last year I bought a my daughter a couple of nice presents, the rest from the dollar store. She loved opening tons of presents, she got dollar markers, pens, notebooks (all disney themed), "barbies", hair things, hula hoops, cars, bubbles, glow sticks etc..

Floam. Ughh. Maybe we got a bad batch, but it was just a sticky, gooey mess. It reminded me of making marshmellow rice crispy treats - gooey stuff stuck to our fingers with little beads. It was awful.

Swim baby swim. I think that is her name. She is a Zapf creation and swims by herself. I think she went swimming twice. I pulled her cold, naked body out of the shower caddy last week and dropped her in a toy box - nobody seems to miss her :rolleyes1 .

Ack! This is what my five year old wants most of all for Christmas. She asks every day if I think Santa will bring it.

One more to add.....Baby Alive.....My niece got this last year, and played with it for one day.....It is messy and annoying (the doll is constantly telling I' m hungry, or I have a stinky....:headache: ) And, the replacement "food and diapers" are expensive!!!!! Avoid this..

Also, I agree with the Hot Wheels...I have thrown out more tracks that just fall apart, or warp when you take them apart, so you can't get them back together. Ugh!!!

My daughter loves floam. Just be careful to look at it if you can see inside when you buy it. If not look at it before she opens it. If it is seperated Goo on one side beads on the other it will not work, take it back and get another batch. We have gotten good floam and bad. My daughter also loves moonsand but gets so frustrated because it NEVER comes out of the molds!

Oh the swimming baby thing is what I meant. We have floam. I think they played with it once and it sits up in the arts and crafts cabinet ignored. I don't think there was anything especially bad about it, just not very interesting to them.

That swimming baby looks to good to be true. Oh well, I think Grandma has already purchased it.

I have one more to add for kids with "Cars" lovers. The Mack Semi that is large and has 3 different scenes for them to recreate. There are so many small parts and it just falls apart no matter how gently we play with it. We really liked the Small mack that has how McQueens' truck looks inside but the one that folds out completely STINKS.

I completely agree with MOON SAND, it should be call FIGHT SAND. It's a fight to clean it up, it's a fight storing it properly and it's a fight trying to convince my son NOT to play with it. ARGGGGGHHHH

Did the baby really swim?

Curious George blowing bubbles. His arm is constantly falling off and when done with playing with him in the bathtub, he holds water in his body that I can't seem to drain. So I can't let her play with him anywhere else.

My DD8 actually showed me instructions for George shows you are supposed to take him apart EACH time you are finished bathing with him!!! and yes, arm won't stay on! I did ask the lady I called for the recall label for the bedtime George if the Bubble one was re-called, and she said no, I kinda wish it was!

MM Clubhouse-what junk! Pretty to look at though!! (Dis fix)
I don't have much luck with Dis store toys...I try to stay away.

My daughter wants some hair thing from TV. Is it a twister or colorer something? Oh I think its a jewel thing-a-migjig.
Thanks for the floam heads up!

Oh no...what is wrong with the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse? I just got it and the counting cruiser for our 2 youngest sons. They watch the show all the time and then of course saw the toy in the TRU big book....LOL

Everytime I see that floam I think of those little cups of Flarp that you can buy in the 1.00 store. You put your hands in the cup and it makes a nasty body noise LOL Now those...the kids play with for hours and hours and hours, good grief....put it down! LOL
