We are planning to buy one of the these for DD who is almost 3. I can't decide which to get her. Which would you recommend? Cost is not an issue. We plan to use it for a while as we don't plan to buy her a DS or any purely video game system for a long long time.

I got my 4 1/2 year old grandson a LeapPad Explorer for Christmas. You can't beat a touchscreen and large screen. I think this is the best option of the three by far. Plus it's the newest, so I would guess it has the latest technology.

LeapPad it combines the Leapster 2 and Explorer and adds a few additional options like the camera. LeapFrog is our favorite.

Leappad, the touchscreen is easier to use and it has way more features. I also had a lot of issues with the leapster and leapster 2 randomnly shutting off or freezing while the kids played. This hasn't happened with the leappad.

We are getting our kids the LeapPad. Last year we got the Leapster2 however the screen on the LeapPad will be much bigger and there is more to do so that's why we decided on this.

If our DD is already playing games on the iPad, does a Leappad make much sense? What does it gain other than it would be hers and hers alone?

I would be interested in hearing answers to this question as well. I am debating between the LeapPad and the Leapster Explorer but we already have two tablets that my 4 year old plays with all the time.

We are trying to decide between the LeapPad and the V Tech InnoTab. Does anyone have the Innotab and what are your opinions? How does it compare to the LeapPad?

Our youngest is 5 and she is more drawn to the InnoTab display at the store (didn't show as much interest in the LeapPad). It seems larger and costs less but other than that I don't know which would be the better buy for her. Any thoughts?

Thanks!!

We bought our DS a Leapster Explorer last Christmas and he absolutely  it!!! You can buy a camera attachment that not only takes pictures but also has a video recorder. DS thinks he is as cool as his sister, who has a DSi XL. DH and I are going to check into the recharger soon 'cuz DS plays it so often the batteries always go dead.

The Leappad is much less expensive than an iPad so if they want to let her use it with less supervision, it is a lot easier to hand over a toy that costs less than 1/5 the price of an iPad. If they play it often, the parents might like the iPad back for their own use :)
