Leapster Questions

What's the best price I should hope to find on a Leapster? Do the pink ones ever get discounted, or just the regular color? Wonder if they'll be readily available on various sales, or hard to find as it gets closer to Christmas...anybody care to hazard a guess?

Also, do you think they're worth the money? Kind of spendy (at full price anyway) for a 4yo imho, but I'm thinking it might be good for the plane trip to WDW. Any experience with any of the Disney games for it?

My dd loves her Leapster . She got it for her 4th b-day. I put it away and take it out every so often so that it seems "new" to her. She has several cartridges (princesses, backyardigans, animal planet). One thing: if you find that the pen isn't working on the screen when you touch it, call Leapster. They can reset your screen by telling you what buttons to press. Good as New!!!! The guy I spoke to said it happens every so often.

My DS4 just got a Leapster for his birthday this month and loves it! My DD5.5 loved it so much we ended up getting one for her too. They only have 2 carts right now, Cars and Princess, but they're happy and play it all the time! I'm sure Santa will be bringing more.

I paid full price but I'm sure there will be sales running for the holidays. I've seen sales at Target for the carts around $20.

I am interested in this also. I like the idea for traveling. It is smaller then a dvd player.

Can the kids figure out the controls easily?

My DD6 got a Leapster from her great uncle a few years ago and we are going to get one for DS who will be 4 in January. We have had great luck with our first one, and DD still plays with it, so we will get a second one for our DS. I'm also curious about a good price. I will say that they are about $10 more in the Toys R Us book than they were regular price at Target recently. I think it was 59.99 vs. 49.99.
