LeapPad, anyone know the app prices?

I think the LeapPad would be perfect for him! He will be able to use it for a few years! :goodvibes

Yes purchases from the LeapFrog store can be shared :cool1: We bought 2 as well and this was a BIG plus!
Thank you. :goodvibes And thanks to tcmata for the list of books, games and apps.:thumbsup2

We are trying to decide between the LeapPad and the V Tech InnoTab. Does anyone have the Innotab and what are your opinions? How does it compare to the LeapPad?

Our youngest is 5 and she is more drawn to the InnoTab display at the store (didn't show as much interest in the LeapPad). It seems larger and costs less but other than that I don't know which would be the better buy for her. Any thoughts?

Thanks!!

DD4 has been drawn to the bright InnoTab as well..... I like LeapFrog products and have had nothing but great products come from them I cant say the same about the few products Ive gotten from V-Tech ;) LeapFrog customer service has been exceptional in the few calls Ive ever made regarding trouble shooting or questions. The LeapPad looks pretty plain on the display, I am certain once DD4 and DS5 see what the LeapPad can do they will be more than thrilled.

Thank you so much to the person who posted the complete price list. :) It will help us decide which system we will get for our son.

Thanks for the info! We don't really have any Leap Frog items but I have only heard good things about them. We do have a few V Tech things but mainly smaller baby type toys. I think what she likes about the InnoTab is that it look more like an actual Ipad. My brother has one that she has played with so now she is asking for an Ipad (and an I Phone) for Christmas. LOL She's worse than my 12 yr old.

The V Tech display lets you actually play games, etc compared to the Leap Frog only showing you demos. Anyone know of good websites to see reviews or comparison?

Last year DD4 begged for an iPod! We purchased what LAST year was suppose to be the iPad for kids a Fisher Price iXL, we had problems with it from day one, then one day it had lines going thru it this is not the 1st Fisher Price electronic toy we had purchased that has let us down. DD4 loved that thing but from Mommys view point I wish I had waited for the LeapPad if I had known! I agree with the LeapPad display only showing a video of what it can do does not help sell the item to kids. Check out amazon.com reviews for mostly unbias reviews. We owned 2 of the original L-Max's with my oldest 2 DDs and we loved them so much we upgraded them to the current L-max's a few years back and gifted the old ones, when they grew out of them we passed one on to DD4 and gifted the other pink one and bought a cars themed L-Max for DS5 2 Christmas's ago =) We are upgrading now to the LeapPads :lovestruc we will be gifting the L-Max's to a shelter with their games

Thanks so much! I will go check out Amazon and see what I can find out. I wouldn't have thought to go there. I will have to make her take a look at the Leap Frog one again next time we are at the store. :wizard:

I think in the end you will have to decide after you read the reviews because the one in the store display just does not do it justice :goodvibes

Just wondering if anyone has found the leappad for under 100.00 yet. I think one store had one for 100 with Mr. Pencil and another extra. I wonder if other stores will have special packaging with extras too.

We want to buy one for our 3 year old, but need to get it soon. Maybe I should go to Wal-mart since they will give you the difference until the end of Dec if you find it cheaper somewhere else.

Anyway just checking to see what prices you were finding and thanks to the poster that posted the app info.

I have a friend who said that there was a great package deal in the Toys R Us Big Toy Book that just came out that had tons of extras in it for the $100 price tag. She's already purchased the LeapPad for her daughter who just turned three and LOVES it!

Yes, it is $100 at TRU with the Mr. Pencil bundle and my Big Toy book had a $10 off a $100 purchase coupon attached.
