Yeah every one i want to share it with are coming to the wedding but dave has family that can not come so mostly for him and just a reason to show people a disney wedding is just as elegant as theirs that is the only reason I want a home reception

Awww, don't be scared, they are super friendly - I was nervous too though!

The young girl who answered the phone originally had some trouble with my accent though....so be warned!! My actual consultant didn't have any problems at all though, as I was worried it'd be really difficult if she didn't understand me!

Jack's mum is really desperate for a home reception/party, but the whole point of us going abroad was so that the people we don't want there cant come!

She isn;t taking the fact we wont have one very well, but there's no way we're doing it! What Jack says is if anyone we have invited can't make it then we'll have a nice meal out with them afterwards. Much nicer we think!

Congrats on the deposit! And moving up the wedding. I think we'll be moving ours up as well. February should be a nice time to go!!

Why is Dave all worried about the home reception? Is he worried about offending people? I agree about not having the need for home reception, but then again there are a few people I'd like to party with, but I just can't swing having them in Disney. Too many people. I'd rather have a small Dis wedding, and a larger gathering at home to celebrate.

I dont know why Dave wants one so much he is only having 4 guests so may be thats why buty he didnt want to actually invite them to the wedding so i dont know I agree with what Torsie I would like to have meal with people who couldnt be there my gran who is ill and my aunty who is her carer but every one else will there

The people I would like to party with will be at my hen night
I guess its another reason to wear my dress

You can def have a PS in August if you get married in Feb (I am having mine this August and getting married next Feb) Also if you do February instead of October the begining of Feb is "value" season so lower minimums and hotel rates for your guests, thats why we chose it (among a few other reasons lol).

And yay for booking your trip! Where are you going to stay in August?

Oh I am so excited thats great oh I didnt even think of the cost so we will be saving loads of money as well Dave will be happy lol

So I started work today I know crazy

he rang today and said we are so busy can you come in at 11 and it was 9 and i had hair colour on I was like ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh OK!!

Went ok really busy my feet kill and workin again tomorrow

oooh gosh i could never be a hair dresser- standing on my feet all day long- that would kill meeee!! so i know how you are feeling! but still, you have a job now so yayyyy!!

i am totally the same about not being bothered about a home reception.. we dont want lots of people there haha but my dad and step mum really want us to have one (i dont think they are keen on the disney idea anyway and want it thier way and have a wedding here) but i think of it as ''its another £500 -£1000 for another party at home, for a hall, buffet ect- what could i spend that money on at disney instead'' hah.. selfish, but its our wedding. So dont feel like you need to because of people not going to disney.

Yeah I totally agree if you dont want one then dont do it. I didnt at first - but then when I thought about it I really want to celebrate informally with our friends - but I want to keep the ceremony just to our closest family. Were going to have a party with 100-150 people but no speeches etc just have a big party to celebrate - that means no pressure just FUN! Everyone is different but I'm only planning on getting married once and want to milk the attention for as long as possible

I understand about wanting to milk it- for me it would be another excuse to wear the dress, and i would invite a lot of people- but then how do you go about inviting those people who you dont want there hehe! thats the problem i am in, so thats why i might just scrap the whole reception idea.

Were going to rude and just invite the people we want there - no random annoying family members etc - if it was any other sort of party you would only invite the people you want there. I think I'm quite blunt though so that helps haha!

I say if you want 2 receptions then do it, don't worry about anyone else. It sounds like you will be super happy with a fun party so go for it girl! Dave's (my Dave's lol) cousin had a destination wedding and then an at home big reception and it was great fun!
