I just realized that even though we are potter fans and have been twice, we’ve never actually eaten in either restaurant. I think it always seemed like too heavy of a meal at the time we were there.

I’m heading back in 2 days! And am determined we try at least one. We have a good chip shop local to us that serves all the traditional, so I’m not as concerned about the food as I am the overall experience and theming. FWIW, we have had drinks in 3 broomsticks, and Leaky Cauldron stick me as a bit “caffateria” is you know what I mean.

Anyway, I’d love to hear some opinions on what the best choice for one meal in wizard of world would be.

Honestly, it's almost same thing, only different kind of concept. If I really had to choose one over the other, I suppose I would have to choose Three Broomsticks, as it has the eating area, as well as Hogs Head in one. The more I think about it, the more I realize it does have more character than Leaky Cauldron, especially with Hogs Head next door with the Hog on the wall and it mirrors a little more of what you seen in film than the Leaky Cauldron.

Also, if you're worried about having too heavy of a meal, typically I either split if I'm with someone, or if I have a big meal, I wait until I'm done with the parks, or plan a little bit of down time after my meal.

You can also get a sandwich with salad instead of fries for a side, if you're hunting for a lighter meal.

I should also mention that we do enjoy and adult beverage with meals. I know 3 Broomsticks has Hogs Head, does Leaky Cauldron have an equivalent?

Leaky Cauldron isn’t really cafeteria-like. The theming is cool and the food is pretty good although 3 broomsticks probably has it beat. Still I would choose it simply because you haven’t been there before.

Honestly next time I’m there I’ll probably try to get to both.

You can have alcoholic drinks as well in Leaky Cauldron, but there isn't a separate bar area like in Three Broomsticks, if that's what you're asking.

Yes, you can get alcohol in the Leaky Cauldron.

Wizards Brew, Dragon Scale and Draught beer along with the Fire Whiskey and wines.

I know what you mean about cafeteria style........that’s the way I see them both to be honest......but with a slightly better theme than most!

Not a fan of the food in either, but both are alright for a meal as you’re not looking for a gastronomic experience........

We had the great feast at Three Broomsticks last time we went. Salad, Rotisserie chicken, ribs, oven roasted potatoes, corn and veggies. If you watch the portion size, (and maybe skip the ribs) this didn't feel like a terribly heavy meal to me, especially compared to the fish and chips I had for lunch at the leaky cauldron that same day.

I prefer Leaky Cauldron because the food at Three Broomsticks is almost identical to what you can get at Terrace Falls in the Jurassic Park area but with much longer lines. Either is an experience to be had, and we do eat st both, but if I had to pick only one, fish and chips at LC for sure!

I like both equally well. They both have great themeing and the food is similar. I love the orange fizzy drink at Leaky Cauldron. As for a heavy meal, I just ordered fries at Three Broomsticks last time so I could sit and rest a while. Id pick what was most convenient or just have a meal at one and a snack of fries at the other to experience both.

Forgot to mention, my personal favorite drink, Fishy Green Ale is only available in Diagon Alley, so that’s another win for LC for me.

I have to go to both each trip. Splitting a meal is a great suggestion.

Agree - we just got back from a trip to both parks, first time for our kids. We ate at Three Broomsticks and ordered the Great Feast and I thought the food was good by Park Standards. Corn on the cob could have been hotter, but unless you are making yourself or getting it right off a roaster, that is a problem you have almost everywhere. For 5 of us, with one frozen butter beer and a couple lemonades, it was over $100. Like another said, the same food is pretty much served at Falls Terrace by Jurrasic Park.

I prefer the food at Leaky Cauldron, I have had the stew, cottage pie, and split pea soup. I like that they come with a bit of green salad on the side. I like Wizard's Brew also! I agree that the atmosphere at 3 Broomsticks is nicer. I usually get a kids meal fish n chips there (and Hogshead Ale)

We preferred Three Broomsticks on our visit in October. I totally understand the cafeteria comment. You're sitting extremely close to others. Theming was great at both, but for comfort to enjoy the moment, I'd go with Three Broomsticks.

DH and I prefer Three Broomsticks. Much better theming here. I like the Shepherd's Pie with Garden Salad. Just the right amount of food, and the Shepherd's Pie is really good.
