We will be in Orlando in June and will spend one day hopping in IoA and US. Our focus is Potter-centric. We will dine at either Leaky Cauldron or Three Broomsticks. My questions for the Hive Mind....

A. Witch one is better? Why?

B. Do either places need reservations?

Neither need reservations as they`re counter services.

As to which one is better, it really is a personal preference......check the menu`s and see which suits your family better. Can`t comment as neither places appeal to us, but many, many people love them.

They`re both very well themed.

You could just do both. :)

I like LC better because of how it’s organized. Theming in both is great. Slight edge to food at 3Bs.

I don’t think you can go wrong with either.

You can always go for drinks at Hogshead Inn (alcohol and all Butterbeer forms) and this see 3Bs.

I see what you did there...:rotfl:

Both are great. Menus are slightly different. If you can only eat at one, pick either based on menu choices or where you happen to be when youre hungry.

Another option is to eat at both. Share plates.

I don’t think you can go wrong with either. As pp said take a look at their menus and decide or pick based on what works best with your plans. I don’t think there’s one that’s clearly better than the other.

Hi agree with pp that it is a personal choice based on the menu items. We enjoy the Leaky Cauldron a bit more because of what they offer. I think both places are great for atmosphere and are fun to go too. The food is really good in both and we never miss eating there on our visits.

If you have a big group, the 3 Broomstick offers a grant feast that can feed up to 5 people for aroud $50:wizard:

No reservations needed, but there can be a long line at meal rush hours (i.e. 12pm-2pm or 5pm-7pm) so keep that in mind. I personally prefer Leaky Cauldron, I much prefer both the food choices and the atmosphere.

Prefer LC for the food and assistance seating. Prefer 3B for seating in/near hogs head and the much shorter line. If only one would do LC.

We prefer the 3 Broomsticks as the food is more geared towards my picky eating kids then the Leaky Cauldron. We also love the big feast as it feeds 4 people!

We usually end up at both but prefer the food at 3 Broomsticks. It just seems to be more fresh and of course the great feast is there and you get a ton of food and there's something for everyone. We did that in November and it was $60 for 4 and $15 more for each additional person. We all loved it and would definitely do that again. The fish and chips are good at LC but I've tried a few of their other entrees and I always wish I would have gotten the fish. It's just not great food IMO.

Both are quick service places. You could do lunch at one and dinner or even just a snack at the other. To make a snack you could just order a few kids meals and share and have a butter beer or some other special HP beverage (the orange dink at Leaky Cauldron that has a cinnamon and brown sugar rim is AMAZING!) The menu at Three Broomsticks is a little more main stream. The LC has food that is pretty "British" but there are things on both menus for picky and adventurous eats. Overall I think 3b is more accommodating to picky eaters. Whatever yo do...be sure to get some butterbeer!

A lot of times, I just get a kids meal at 3B or LC because we also like to get ice cream at Florean Fotrtescues in Diagon ally and lots of butter beer throughout the day :)

Hmmmm....that big feast could work. Thanks for the info.

We loved the big feast with our teens. And it was very mainstream as in bbq ribs, chicken legs, corn, salad, etc. After eating out all week, it felt like a home cooked meal, actually.

The great feast is very good, but it is "technically" for 4, and it's $59.99 (worth it). To add an additional person, it's $15. I don't think the extra $15 is required for a 5th person, it just ensures extra food for a 5th. But, I could be mistaken on that, because we only go with either 3 or 4 people when we go to Orlando.

Our family prefers the food at 3B over LC by a long shot. 3B is possibly our favorite counter service restaurant in both Universal and Disney.

Not to hijack the thread but quick question--

We've only eaten at the Leaky Cauldron and loved how they did the assisted seating. Some posters above mentioned that TB doesn't do this? Is seating just a free for all? Does this make it harder to get a table?

Like the OP we're trying to decide which to prioritize, in case we can't get to both.
