Lead Guest Required for UT Tickets?

I was about to purchase my tickets through Undercover Tourist with the e-ticket option but then read that a "Lead Guest" is required to be present when the tickets are used. Does anyone know if that's the first time you use them or if that's every time someone in your party goes into one of the parks? I'd rather get e-tickets in case we forget to bring them we can print them out or go to guest services but we will likely split up to have my son nap at the resort at least one day. And if someone gets sick or just needs a break or any other reason, I hate to tie our hands and require that I, as the Lead Guest, always have to be present.

Also e-tickets would obviously be printed on whatever printer paper I use. I've seen others mention putting their daily pass in a lanyard. If I get the option of 'real tickets' will I be getting some sort of plastic card instead? It might be nice to have something waterproof.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

UT can send actual tickets

E ticket probably means electronic ticket pick up.
my guess it is pick up your ticket at the kiosk at the park instead of having it mailed to you.

a lead guest would be the one the order was made by.
once you get the tickets, you do not have to be present to enter the park with them.
if you do a kiosk pick up, you will need to put certain info into it to have them issued
name, order number, cc used for purchase.

if you order online thru UO, you can get the print at home option which would be the 8 x 10 size of paper as an option, or kiosk pick up (which would be actual tickets).

ap are the plastic tickets/passes

if I'm wrong on any of this, someone will correct me
i haven't used the etickets since last year for a special event.

@macraven I really appreciate you always taking the time to answer things. The Uni forums just aren't as well traveled as the Disney ones (go figure). I called UT this morning so I wanted to put the info I got here in case anyone else is concerned about it and finds this thread. The e-tickets are electronic delivery but not kiosk tickets. You print them and that is the your ticket. The Lead Guest has to be present the first time each ticket is used with ID. After each ticket is scanned the first time (and everyone is finger printed), each member of the party can use those tickets as they please without the Lead Guest present.

Thank you for calling UO and correcting me!

i saw your post and since there were no replies, tried to take a stab at answering

Did not that want to happen here

Can say this, if you print tickets at home, make a few copies

If they get wet from a water ride or if the bar code is unreadable, your extra copies can be used

If you fold the E tickets, don't put creases in the bar code portion of those paper print out tickets.
A crease can make the code unreadable

That's a good tip about the extra copies in case they get wet. Thanks! And good to know about the creasing too. They seem formatted for 8x10 so I would definitely fold to get it into a lanyard so I'll be careful.

Why not get tickets sent? Getting real tickets is so nice.

(Edited bc I was getting my options and UP vs UCT mixed up)

Actually it is an option with UCT but I fear leaving them on my counter. At least if I forget e-tickets I can just go to Guest Services. Maybe I can with real tickets too but I need a plan B in case of forgetfulness.
