Le Meridien -vs- Gatwick Hilton

We paid £99 a few weeks ago but as that was through P&O that's not much help. It was definitely better than Hilton though, even though Hilton is cheaper.

From P&O prior to a P&O fly/cruise.

We have stayed at the Hilton in Family rooms twice now and both rooms were perfect, they were huge. The first time we overlooked the carpark, not at all noisy and weren't really interested in the view. Last year we stayed in a family room overlooking the atrium (have I spelt that right) this room was perfect in every way, a huge kingsized bed for us and large singles for the kids, there was a table and four chairs in the middle of the room as well. We are only interested in the room and not parking as DH gets free long stay parking at BAA airports, so that will save us alot.

We have stayed at Le Meridien lots of times, and have always found it to be excellent. I would reiterate what has been said above, it's no big deal at all to get the shuttle over to the south terminal if you are flying with Virgin - particularly if you use twilight check-in. We always fly to Tampa with BA from the north terminal, but would stay at Le Meridien even if we had to get to the south.

I think you need to shop around, because prices vary from site to site depending on when you are going. For us this November the cheapest I have found is www.aph.com @ £109. It's £129 with holiday extras, but they do always give you a voucher which gets you half price breakfast (in fact, from memory. I think you just ask for the voucher when you check in - I don't know if they would let you have one if you booked elsewhere).
