We will be on a EC Fantasy cruise in 2 weeks. While in St. Maarten we are planning on visiting Le Galion beach. We have 3 children that range in age from 11 to 16. I am interested in hearing from those who have been there recently. Were the beach & facilities in good shape? Did it take long to get there? Was it crowded (we will be there on a Tuesday)? Did the water appear clean, etc? Thanks!

I can't answer your question as we won't be on St Maarten until 2 weeks after you, but I wanted to ask if you could save your Navigators and post them when you return. I'm anxious to see recent Fantasy EC Itinerary A Navigators.

Regarding your question, have you read any reviews on Trip Advisor?

We were there in early July 2013 but it was just a stop on our Bernards Tour (so maybe only for 1 1/2 - 2 hours). The water was very calm. There were big patches of sea grass but you could see them and walk around them. When we were there, it was not crowded at all.
We spent $15 to rent an umbrella and two chairs. There wasn't much else there except a small snack stand (at that time - not sure about now).

One more to show the beach area. This was the only vendor that came around and it was for hair braiding. It was very low pressure and she only came over when we called her (because we did want the hair braiding done).

Yes, I visit there often. But the last Itinerary A Eastern Caribbean Fantasy cruise was in October or November and the cruise that is this week is the first one returning to that itinerary. I'm looking for new Itinerary A Navigators. The last one posted on disneycruiselineblog is from early September.

We were there last october. Took a taxi from port. The beach was beautiful and wáter very calm. It is really secluded and very few people. Loved it

We went to Le Galion in Dec 2014 and LOVED IT. Can't say enough good things. In fact a few families came over from Orient beach saying how they wish they had come to Galion first :). I gather that because Orient beach isn't protected it can get quite windy and lots of seaweed. Whereas Le Galion is protected so is beautiful and calm. They even have an Olympic size "pool" in the ocean. We didn't find it busy at all. It was perfect for us especially with young kids. As your kids are older the one thing to consider is whether they would like a waiver beach. One option we did is hit Le Galion in the am and then head over later to Maho to see the planes. Hope you have a good time!
