Which would you choose and why ? I haven't eaten at either one so any opinions would be great.

I prefer Le Cellier. Both restaurants are 'safe' offerings in WS, but I think the food at LC Is higher quality. The duck meatball appetizer was beter than some signature appetizers, and the mushroom filet with risotto and truffle butter is a very satisfying lunch.

The show at Biergarten is really pretty neat.

Food wise...Le Cellier is better, but biergarten is still pretty good.

The food is heavy for lunch at either place...but I kind of think the steaks at LeCellier would be a little heavier.

We are doing our 1st lunch at Le Cellier in September, and have eaten lunch at Biergarten a few times.

Le Cellier for the simple fact that when I have a TS lunch I use it has my break/down time, thus I want to sit and relax- have the food brought to me vs having to get up to go to the buffet

LC is like any steak house near me. Biergarten is different and all you can eat so you try things and not feel your wasting money. The food is not common.

Le Cellier....then go over to the CS place outside Biergarten for some Bavarian Cheesecake.
I didn't care for most of the food at Biergarten (I'm a picky eater) but I LOVED the Bavarian Cheesecake. The show was a lot of fun, even though I couldn't get DH to get up and dance with me.

Last trip in March...Le Cellier was the worst meal of the trip...Biergarten was the best. I would go to Biergarten. The show was entertaining, service was good, and the food was great! And for us, paying out of pocket, it was worth it! Le Cellier was a waste of money...we would never eat there again!

I agree with these folks. Biergarten is more unique than Le Cellier. You can get a steakhouse anywhere. And to be honest, I wasnt impressed with my meal at Le cellier. Didnt think the soup was great, i've had better bread sticks, and the steak (strip steak) was too fatty and tasteless. I wouldnt go back. Biergarten has a band and they do a little show. Plus the food is more unique than the offerings of a steakhouse. :thumbsup2

This will not be the popular answer but I think Le Cellier is the most over rated place on property. I can get the same food, just as good or better, and for less money at home or in just about any city. I would go with Biergarten because you can't get the show at home, at least in most cities you can't, and the food there is still good.

Thanks everyone for all the information. I was wondering if LeCelliers was over rated. I have heard so much about them being really good and it's always hard to get a reservation also. I have heard good things about Biergarten also but not as much as Le Celliers. The only reservation I can get for lunch for LC is at 2:00pm and we wanted to eat lunch earlier then that. I was debating on if I should cancel my 2:00 pm and change to Biergarten for earlier. Biergarten has plenty of reservations open during the time we eat lunch. Price doesnt matter because we have the free dining .

I found Le Cellier to have amazing food. Really enjoyed the cheese soup and maple creme brule. Beirgarten has a great atmosphere but if I am looking for somewhere to eat, I always go for the better food over the better theming.

I love Le Cellier.........the cheese soup, pretzel bread, chocolate cake and filet is all super yummy!!!

We ate at Biergarten for the 1st time last month and it was gross except for the bavarian cheescake that was really good.

If your choice is based on food go to le cellier.

I agree. Biergarten is more unique, food and entertainment. I personally didnt like my meal/steak at Le Cellier. You can get a far better steak for cheaper outside of the parks or in your hometown. If you want a good steak, do yourself a favour and find a good steakhouse in your hometown. im sure it'll be much better than le cellier.

Honestly, le cellier (IN MY OPINION) is incredibly overrated. how often will you get to dine in a place like biergarten in your home town? Compare the menu's and decide that way. There are tons of food-pictures of both places on this site too. good luck with your decision!

I just got back from a Disney trip yesterday and ate at both Le Cellier and Biergarten. I agree that Le Cellier is probably way overrated but the food there was decent. The steak I had the night before at the California Grill was far better than the strip I had at Le Cellier though.
We also had the issue of 2PM reservations but we showed up at 11:45 and managed to get seated early. No idea if you could bank on this strategy all the time but it worked for us.
Biergarten is also much cheaper than Le Cellier if you are concerned about price.

Le Cellier is my favorite restaurant with Disney. Amazing time :) GL getting a reservation there! :) :yay:

I would definitely pick Biergarten over Le Cellier - very over rated - but in either case, don't plan on eating dinner that night, too! For me, that's way too much food for lunch. The Biergarten is a buffet and not really "light" cooking; I had lunch at Le Cellier ONCE - a steak sandwich - and I was stuffed into the next day. Just a lot to eat in the afternoon.

We've eaten at each place twice. For our next trip, my DH has refused to go back to LeCellier, but he would definitely do Biergarten again. I liked both, although our second meal at LeCellier was definitely miles below the fabulous meal we had the first time there.
