Le Cellier

Just had lunch at Le Cellier for the first time and my DH had the filet which he said was great, and I had angel hair pasta with the sauce that they have stated on their menu wilth the gnocchi. It was delicious. Don't give up on Le Cellier if you don't have an ADR. There was a couple waiting to be seated that were walk ups, and said that they didn't have an ADR, but were told that they would be seated in 30 minutes, and this was right around 12:00.

That's amazing on the walk-up! I've never seen anyone get in.

We just got back from Disney on Sunday. We ate at Le Cellier on Monday (Memorial Day). Keep in mind that Free Dining was going on during the length of our stay. Le Cellier was about half full/empty. It was actually kind of quiet in there, much more so than our first visit in Dec 2009 (free dining also) when it was elbow to elbow in that place then.

We experienced that at a lot of places during our trip. Not sure if they were accepting walk-ups but I can't imagine why they wouldn't. With so few people inside Le Cellier, we had excellent service!

Le Cellier was our favorite meal of the trip, two trips in a row!

Le Cellier staggers reservations, so there are times it seems kind of empty, but it's just on the way to filling up. But if you were there mid-service (like 1.5 hours into dinner or lunch) than, yeah, it was probably slow.

I have seen walk ups there before when I was checking in for lunch. Everytime I go in that restaurant there are empty tables.

But keep in mind if you get turned away, or told to wait a long time even if you see empty tables, that just because tables are empty doesn't mean that the restaurant isn't "full". A restaurant is "full" when there are enough people seated and dining to fully occupy the capabilities of the kitchen to turn out food, or to fully occupy the servers' ability to manage all the tables with diners. For example, if there are 4 servers in a restaurant and each server is tasked with attending to 4 tables, then once 16 tables are occupied, then the restaurant is "full" even if it has 20 tables. They aren't going to fill the remaining 4 tables if they have no one to tend to them, or if the kitchen will get so backed up that the food prep will suffer. Just something to keep in mind during the "slower" seasons when staffing is cut back.

I've had great success there in the past as a walk up, but I've found lately that the entire place is over rated, so I don't even try anymore. HOWEVER - it will be my daughter's bday when we are there in August, and she requested Le Cellier as her birthday meal because she loves the soup - so I made an ADR (gasp!) for lunch. Booked it for the four of us. Since then, she's invited a friend of her's to join us for the trip, and there are no tables to be found for a party of five. I'm just going to wing it and hope they will accomodate the five of us - being it's her bday may help. If not - I'll just send my DS16 off somewhere else - he is not a fan of the sit down meal experience and would welcome the chance to escape if I gave him the option!

It was slow - our reservation was for 1:10 pm.
