Le Cellier

I just called now when I saw your thread posting and I was able to get reservations during our Jan. 8th-15th trip! I've been calling non-stop the past few days and was ready to give up. Then today there was an opening. Seriously, if you want it, just keep calling! :cool1:

CONGRATS!! I share your excitement...we were unable to get ressies for our Sept. trip..but were able to get lunch ressies for our Feb. trip.It is exciting. Enjoy:thumbsup2

they might not want to hear a chatty 3 y.o. next to them over dinner.

On our last trip, we and I'm sure many other guests at the restaurant would welcome a chatty 3 year old over the obnoxious, rude and selfish party of 12 adults near us. I can't imagine eating anywhere at Disney with hearing children. But I was quite uncomfortable with the adults in the party yelling and screaming at their waitress. We spoke to the waitress (happens to be our waitress also) and complimented her on her calmness and restraint. However, the manager, although he started with a very accomodating voice and demeanor ended up getting very upset with the "guests". The whole restaurant could hear them. But they didn't care that they were disturbing us. They wanted everyone to hear every little complaint. Believe me, they were little complaints. One of the women started screaming at the waitress because she didn't provide enough cutlery????:sad2:

Sorry about going off on a tangent. Anyways, Le Cellier is not an adults only restaurant. Actually, the waitstaff usually jokes around and chats with the kids. They really love them. In our experience with Le Cellier, we have always had a very friendly and chatty waiter/waitress. There was one time that as we were speaking to our waitress, we realized that we had lived a block away from her parents. It was hilarious. It did seem like a "small world" at that time.:)

We'll be there on Sat 2/21.
Sorry in advance to any of you who couldn't get a ressie that night because of our large group :(
And sorry to those of you who will be there and have to deal with our antics :dance3: seriously thou we're not that bad.

PHEW!! I am going to miss you ;) ;)

Just kidding. Have a fantastic time!

I was excited to get a lunch ADR for our January trip!!!! We were jumping up and down EXCITED LMAO

Some people say it's just the 'cool place' to get an ADR, which could be part of it, some think the steaks are to die for (I'm one of those), some think it's just because it's a smaller seating area, so it books up faster (it is).

I like the setting, the people that work there, and the food. Those 3 things make it a thumbs up for me. :thumbsup2

I'm the same way. We've never ate there before, but everyone on the disboards says how wonderful it is, so I decided we had to try it! I've read that the restaurant is really small, so maybe that's the issue with making it so hard to get a table. Also, our big problem in getting a table for 2 was that there were only tables for 4 available. I didn't ever think that the number in your party would keep you from being seated, but I guess it makes sense.

I like you kept on hearing all this amazing stuff about it and being from Canada I had to know first hand just what the big deal was. Well boy oh boy I wasn't mislead. The food was fabulous. It's amazing how a simple fillet mignon can just be so good.

The setting is also very nice, it's quieter and just a little escape from the craziness that can be found outside and at the rides. It was nice to be 'home' for an hour or so while we ate ;)

I'd read great things about LeCellier too and REALLY wanted to eat dinner there. I called at the 180 day mark and got a 5:30pm dinner for 4 people on Oct. 30. Between when I called and our actual trip, I had called Disney Dining 2 more times to re-confirm everything. We were returning home on the 31st so I thought that dinner at LeCellier would be a great way to cap off the trip.

Well, we got to the restaurant and I was behind a couple. They were wondering if they could get in without an ADR. They said they would wait as long as they needed to, but the CM said there were absolutely no openings. I was so glad that I had my ADR....until I got to the desk. She couldn't find my ADR! I'd left the confirmation number in our room, too. I looked at her screen and told her that she had some ADR's there that were under my name, but not mine. Another CM told her to look it up under my phone number....poof! There it was....5:30pm....for the 31st!:scared1: I about cried! I told them that I know that I made the ADR for the 30th because I would be back home by 5:30pm on the 31st. I even told them that I had confirmed it on two separate occasions! Oh, I was heartbroken...the finale to my awesome trip was ruined....

Wait, this is DISNEY!! The CM went and talked to her manager and she came back with a smile on her face. She said they would get us in, but we might have to wait about 20 minutes! I didn't care! One of my kids was asleep in the stroller and the other one was begging to color at the Kidcot station. So, we wandered to the coloring table, sat down and started to color. I didn't get the cap off the marker when the hostess was telling us that our table was ready! Our 20 minute wait was all of about 5 minutes! I couldn't thank her enough! She even brought out some YOMD pins for my 2 DD's. I could have hugged her right there!:cool1:

The meal was everything I was hoping for. The pretzel bread and cheese soup were delicious and so was the NY Strip. Yummmmm!

Needless to say, I will definitely eat there again! The service, atmosphere and food was absolutely excellent!:cheer2:

I called today and got our dinner ADR for Feb.; I'm a bit nervous because the food sounds awesome, but we have DD3 with us, even though she - for the most part - behaves well in restaurants, I was worried that it might be mainly adults in the restaurant -trying to enjoy their dinner, they might not want to hear a chatty 3 y.o. next to them over dinner. How is the atmosphere? Will we be ok with our little DD? :confused3

We took our 2 yo one year and again when she was 3 yo the next. It was fine. It is cozy, but not very quiet. So, a chatty 3 yo will be fine.

BTW, our 3 yo wasn't a fan of anything on the kids' menu (DDs and I are vegetarian, and our younger DD doesn't like pizza - what is up with that?). Anyway, we asked if she could have a grilled cheese. Our waitress asked the chef, and she gave us a choice of breads and told us that the chef had a white cheddar (did our 3 yo mind white cheese?). I picked the english muffin with the white cheddar, and it was THE BEST GRILLED CHEESE that I (or DH) have ever tasted (I've tried to imitate it, without success). They grilled the english muffin inside out.

They were so friendly and accommodating...we really appreciated that aspect (they were accommodating for me, too, when I had questions/dislikes about the only vegetarian option).

We've had two GREAT experiences at Le Cellier (and, again, I'm a vegetarian, but DH eats meat), and we will keep going on every trip until something changes. I love the cozy atmosphere. I'd easily be comfortable bring kids, and I would easily have a great meal without my kids (ie, nice adult meal).

I just received a PM this week from a fellow Dis'r, and they cancelled their ressie right after I pm'd them back. I was able to grab the reservation and I am so excited. I loved the soup and the pretzel bread and can't wait for our dinner ! It will be a nice meal for my DD7 and I as we are having our first trip together.

I got in I got in I got in. We have a lunch reservation on our first day there. :cheer2: :cheer2:

Note: I just called for a party of 3 (1/19/2009) and they still have lunch reservations from 11:30 - 2:00 PM so anyone looking to go there and can't seem to find an available spot call quick.

Couldn't get dinner but we got one for lunch.

Do the menus differ that much?

I am drooling here. I want to go back so bad. Le Cellier was everything I hoped and more. My filet was so tender I could cut it with my fork.
Pretzel BRead mmmmmmmm, soup, mmmmmmmmm
