Ok guys... I think this may be my first restaurant thread!!!! I need to know the good, the bad, and the ugly!!!! I have an ADR for May 28 and I want to know what is the best appetizer and main dish. We won't be on the DDP...but I want to know the whole story...;)

Welcome to the Restaurant Board.....there are many fans of LeCellier here on the Dis and hopefully they will respond here and give you their opinions..

I am not wild about LeCellier, and believe me, I am in the minority.....the last time we ate there, the food was very spicey and it did not indicate that it would be spicey....I ordered some chicken dish if my memory serves me correctly...I just cannot do spicey it makes me sick and am very careful in my ordering....had it said spicey, and by this I mean hot, I would not have ordered it.

But people love it and they will come......and give you their opinions.. ;) :)

STEAK!

LOL you cannot go wrong with a filet.

definitely try the cheddar cheese soup, and grab a pretzel bread stick.

le cellier is a favorite of mine. but then I pretty much have never met a steakhouse I didn't like!

May 28th?
We have an ADR for May 13th and I thought that was the last day in May since they are closing for refurbishment?

Appetizer: vine ripened tomato stack
Entree: filet with mushroom risotto
Dessert: creme brulee sampler

That's what I'm having for dinner May 5th.

Their chocolate cake is also very good. Most people love their cheese soup and I guess it's OK, but I LOVE the tomato stack appetizer.

Hey Lady! Don't you know us troublemakers are only allowed to post on the Community Board! ;)

Le Celliers is my favorite resturant on property. YUMMY!

Appetizer - hands down the cheese soup. Has a little bit of a beer taste to it, but not so overwhelming that it is all you notice. I can't stand beer - so if it was to over powering I would love it. AND I DO LOVE IT! I also love dipping my pretzel bread in it.

Entree: Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon - this is melt in your mouth good. Or the Seared King Salmon is also extremely good.

Dessert: Maple Creme Brulee - absolutely delicious!

For appetizer, I had the beef and barley soup - there was so much meat in there, it could have been a meal in itself! It was really good! DH had caesar salad - also said it was good. I had 7 oz. filet w/bbq sauce - was delicious! Cream cheese potatoes were to die for! DH had mushroom filet and swears his was better than mine. For dessert, I asked to take mine "home" and ate it later in room - it was the chocolate mousse and was very sweet, but very good. DH had the double-berry buckle and could not stop talking about it the whole trip! He wanted to go back just to get more dessert. We are going back in April (with the kids this time) and are really looking forward to it!

We went for lunch. DH ordered it & I took a taste. Not really my cup of tea. I had the mussels appetizer and loved it!

Everything I have had here was very good , we had 4 adults and 4 kids ,no complaints. The next time the only complaint was the kids meal , my daughter was not happy about the choices so I shared with her. But the soup and bread are great, you must try it. The chocolate whiskey cake is just yummy. Ceasar salad and shrimp appetizer's were very good.

Cheese Soup... Cheese Soup... Cheese Soup... Cheese Soup... Cheese Soup... Cheese Soup... Cheese Soup... Cheese Soup... Cheese Soup... Cheese Soup... Cheese Soup... Cheese Soup... Cheese Soup... Cheese Soup... Cheese Soup...

AND

Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak... Steak...

Can you tell I LOVE Le Cellier????

Beautiful baby in your signature!

Personally I love Le Cellier - as people have mentioned, the cheese soup and the fillet are awesome, IMO.

I do find the seating rather tight. And the ceiling is kind of low - after all, you're supposed to be in a celler.

...what is the best appetizer and main dish.
That all depends on what you like to eat! Here is a link to their menu Le Cellier Dinner Menu

This may be a strange question but, is the cheese soup any thing like the beer cheese they serve as a pretzel dip in the smoky mountains? we went to the smokies for vacation last year and the beer cheese was to die for. I can't wait to try Lecelier on our July trip to the world.

My favorite appetizer is the cheese soup and entree is the mushroom filet. They are both out of this world!

I know the filet comes with risotto but can you get it with the mashed potatoes instead?

The mussels are the best appetizer...they are in a potato bacon broth...yummy with the pretzel bread dunked!!! :thumbsup2

The mushroom filet was also great...for drinks try the Torontopolitan!

This is my favorite restaurant!!! Enjoy!

We're almost in 100% agreement!

The filet is to die for. The sauce on top... YUM! My dd9 loved the other filet, without the sauce, and the cream cheese mashed potatoes (again, to DIE for). She also LOVED the chocolate cake. I agree the cheese soup is good and fun, but my friend loved the mussels for an appetizer and I'll eat that tomato stack again!

And yes, the torontopolitan is yummy, too.

Le Cellier is a classic and absolutely fantastic. It is worth going to just try the cheddar cheese soup and various styles of bread sticks. You will also enjoy their meat selection and sides. Enjoy!

The ugly is perhaps that so many people rave about this place that its possible to have unrealistic expectations. Its a good restaurant, one we usually visit. But we've had better steaks - better steaks at Disney (we've paid more for most of them).

The only other downside is that its so popular that they can back up in the evening. We've always been seated pretty promptly at 5:00, but I've heard stories of long waits later in the evening.
