We've never attempted to get a ressie for Le Cellier, so I was wondering what makes it so special? Is there a particular item you love?

What makes it popular is it is the only 1 ts steak place in Disney, it is in World Showcase but yet is familiar foods to picky eaters. It is ok, I have had better steaks locally, but it was enjoyable enough.I would try other places before I go back though

The steaks and the salmon are really delicious. And so are the maple creme brulee and chocolate "moose." And the breadsticks. And, oh, the cheese soup. Well, you get the idea. Just about anything you order is going to be good. What makes it extra special for us is the friendliness of the Canadian CMs waiting on you there. They just make you feel so comfortable and very well taken care of. Hope you will try it.

It has been our experience that the steaks can be hit or miss (like pretty much anywhere) But what really keeps us coming back is the bread, the cheese soup & the creme brulee. :worship: OMG I'm drooling now.

I know...It's all I can do not to lick the plate!

I really liked the place but....
It seemed really small,
It is included in the DDP, but I spent $90 extra:scared1:...on what, I don't remember...I had a glass of wine, and maybe an extra appy...tip......I still can't figure that one out?:confused3 And our party was one adult and two kids.

I had better meals in steakhouses outside of Disney....and back home.

But I had to see what all the fuss was about.....and yeah.....I would go back again!!!:dance3:

i is just a nice atmosphere and a very good value on the DDP of it being just one table service vs. yachtsmen steakhouse which is 2 DDP credits plus EPCOT is a much more convenient location than boardwalk hotel :confused3

Good service, friendly CMs, pretzel bread and it is all 1 TS credit

Count me in as one who will keep trying and trying to get in for each trip :surfweb:

I do have it for our Sept trip so I am happy :dance3:

Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup
Le Cellier Steakhouse
serves 4-6
Ingredients:
3 cups milk
1 cup chicken broth
6 slices bacon, diced
1/4 cup fnely diced red onion
1/4 cup finely diced celery
3 tablespoons all purpose flour
2 cups shredded canadian white cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoons tabasco sauce or to taste
1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sause
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
fresh chives
1. In a 2-quart saucepan heat the milk and the chicken broth over medium-low heat.
2. Meanwhile in a 4 or 5 quart dutch oven cook the bacon stirring over medium heat for about 5 minutes or until lightly browned.
3. Add the red onion, celery, and scallion and cook, stirring until the onion has softened, about 5 minutes. Add the flour and cook, stirring constantly for about 3 minutes.
4. Remove the dutch oven from the heat, add the heated milk mixture and whisk until well blended. Return to the heat and cook, whisking constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil. Boil for 1 minutes or until thickened.
5. Remove the dutch oven from the heat and stir in the cheese, tabasco sause, worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until the cheese is melted and the soup is smooth.
6. Serve the soup hot, garnished with chives.

Just really good food, in an atmosphere that is "nice" but not so nice that a redneck like me feels like she's not supposed to be there, LOL! (I always feel that way in places with white tablecloths, dress codes, and maitres'd instead of hosts/hostesses.)

While waiting to be seated after we checked in, DH and I chatted with a guy who'd just come out and whose family was in the restrooms. He said he'd just had "the best meal of my life". I was looking forward to LC, but didn't want to oversell it in my mind, so I took his words with a grain of salt.

Well, I came out with the same opinion! I don't even like mushrooms, but got the mushroom filet anyway, and YUM. Chicken sausage chipotle appetizer...YUM. Chocolate mousse...YUM...better than the mousse in France's patisserie! Just a great, great meal.

Each section of the restaurant represents a different region of Canada, which the server tells you about when they introduce themselves. They all speak perfect English, yet I can still practice my French on them. It has a fancy yet comfortable feel that is hard to find elsewhere.

And of course as said many times above, great value and wonderful food.

For me it's just a tradition. I've always been lucky enough to get an ADR for every trip (and I go 4-5 times a year). In fact, I have two ADRs at Le Cellier for my Sept/Oct trip (lunch and dinner).:cool1: I'm probably one of the few that don't really care for the cheese soup. I do love the mussels, tomato stack appetizer, filet with mushroom risotto, chocolate whiskey cake and maple creme brulee, plus their chocolate raspberry shakes and mango smoothies. We've always gotten excellent service there. It's always the first ADR I ask for when making ADRs.
