i have dinner reservations for Le Cellier Steakhouse in sept
i didnt realize it uses 2 points on the plan
is it worth the 2 points
also is it possible to try to go in there for lunch with out a resverations
would they let you wait to see if a table opens up or someone doesnt show up

You are going to get 1000 different answers here but let me see if i can simplify it for you.

Yes it is a good restaurant, good being the key word here. I loved my steak and my whole meal for that matter.

Now is it worth 2 TS? Probably not. For the most part the menu is the same for lunch minus a couple of things and it is only 1 TS.

It is a staple on my vacations and probably always will be. There are better steakhouses in WDW like Shula's and Yachtsman. Shula's there is no DP accepted and Yachtsman is 2TS as well.

IMHO try it for yourself if you like it go back if not then don't.

Enjoy

My husband and I still drool over LeCellier.....

Try it for lunch, 1 credit and then decide.

mmmmm, LeCellier. :cloud9:

As for California Grill.... Not worth the 2 credits at all. That opinion is after we ordered their two "signature" dishes that the waiter recommended. Even the dessert was just blah.

If we ever go back it will be only for the sushi.

We have eaten lunch and dinner here many times. We have also had dinner here since it went to the signature level. We were not using credits, just our TiW discount card. IMHO, this place is not worth 2TS credits. We paid cash and it was not worth the price increase compared to lunch. Yes, the portion sizes are different between lunch and dinner, but not worth using the extra TS credit. We will be sticking to lunch from now on. I actually read that the cuts of meat would be different between lunch and dinner and I had the mushroom filet for lunch one day during our 2 weeks trip and then had it at the new dinner change and it was exactly the same. The cut was just a little bit larger for dinner, but not much. There are some other cuts of steak that are more generous in size, but the filet is about the size of a deck of playing cards. Good luck trying to get lunch at this late date -- and during the free dining time period.

Since LC is still 1TS credit for lunch, a lunch ADR is harder to get than a dinner one in general. Make an ADR if you can, keep checking for cancellations. Now and then they MIGHT take walk-ups right when they open for dinner at 4pm or so. But since it's the free dining period lunch most likely will be pretty booked.

Our family loves Le Cellier, but we're all agreed that it's not worth 2 TS credits.

If you are going to spend 2 TS credits on a steakhouse, I would rather goto The Yachtsman. The only bad thing is you kind of have to dress up.
