I am a little concerned...we have ADRs for Le Cellier in May and I am so excited. But will they be able to accommodate my daughter's peanut/tree nut allergy? We had no problems last year (but we did not eat @ Le Cellier) but when I e-mailed the lady who is in charge of food (I can NEVER remember this lady's name, Brenda something I believe) she said it is wise to stay away from food from WS as the chefs may not understand English...but being this is only Canada I would assume English is spoken and peanut/tree nut allergies are common there as well....what do you think? I really wouldn't imagine there being a problem but....who knows...I would order her either the pizza or the pasta.

Also is it really dark in there? Like will I be able to see what we are eating?

What would YOU order?

And....any pics of the place and food would be nice

Thanks!

I would think you would be fine. I have seen the chef at LeCellier come out and talk to people numerous times during our visit. It is dark, but not so dark that you cannot see your food. Here is a link to our reviews from September with pictures of our food (our friends came with us to celebrate our anniversary):

It's not dark at all, I found. I mean, yes, it is underground, and it may be "dim" but think cozy-dim. Like a lodge, that's how I think of it (having never been in a lodge).

And I'm sure they can accommodate your daughter's allergies.

The only experience I've had of an allergic reaction was in Morocco, but we didn't know that my dad was allergic to a certain type of wheat they used, so that wasn't their fault. He was okay a few hours later... at 2 am... while I was stuck in the room with my siblings, freaking out because no one was answering their phones. :lmao:

Also, if you ask, they have all the ingredient lists for the foods. It might take a bit though.

1) As with all eateries, it depends upon the allergy sensitivity.
2) If mildly allergic, the chef can avoid using nut.
3) If wildly allergic, then she is in trouble.
4) Absolute cross-contamination cannot be positively avoided.

Try the cheese soup, it's amazing!

If there is any possible way...:rotfl:
Can someone explain to me what the cheese soup tastes like. I have read that there's beer in it, can you taste it? I am not a big beer fan.

Also, I have seen pics of onion soup, has anyone tried that? I really like french onion soup just covered in CHEESE haha, was wondering if there's a difference in Canada?

Thanks!

Well we have eaten at the world before last year, other than that just fast foods that we know to be safe.

But do they really use a lot of peanuts/tree nuts in their foods @ Le Cellier? Like I am avoiding Ohana dinner because I know they serve peanut sauce so that is way out of my comfort zone.

:thumbsup2 We have three peanut allergic kids and one is also tree nut. Our kids have eaten here just fine with absolutely NO issues. We have been extrememly lucky with our trips to WDW and the kids allergies. I am sure you will have a wonderful meal. :thumbsup2

My daughter has peanut/tree nut allergies. I've found all the chefs at DisneyWorld to be amazing! We've eaten at both LeCellier and OHanas and those chefs were great.

One of the reasons we're going back to Disney for a 3rd year is because they do a great job taking allergies very seriously. They help put my mind at ease.

With that said, I always have my guard up when it comes to the nuts. I look at the food, smell, taste, etc. When in doubt, I stay with foods I feel comfortable with.

Have fun!!

I absolutely despise any type of alcohol, and I'm really sensitive to the smell and taste of it (I can't even have the eggnog with the fake stuff in it), and I love this soup. Unless it's changed drastically in the two years since I've been, you should be fine. :)

I can't comment on the allergy, but it was not really dark inside. You definitely will be able to see what you are eating!

I had the mushroom filet, but instead of risotto I got the cream cheeses mashed potatoes, and it is the best meal I've ever eaten in my life!!! I may have pics in my food report in my siggy...if not, they will be forthcoming.
