Le Cellier or Yachtsman Steakhouse?

Ok, so I have a ressie at Le Cellier for our upcoming trip. After reading the threads that say it's just OK, overhyped, good if you only want to spend 1 TS credit, etc. I'm wondering if I should try to snag something at Yachtsman Steakhouse instead. I recently upgraded us to DxDP, so no need to be stingy w/ dining plan credits.

So knowing all my "friends" here at the Dis, can always be counted on to have and share opinions on topics just like this :thumbsup2 --what do all you experts think?

We've done both. Yachtsman wins, hands down! We'll be dining there again this summer.

Yachtman, definitely. We ate there last August & it was one of our favorite table-service restaurants (and we ate at about 10 last year).

I agree with the other posts you've read about Le Cellier being "ok". We ate there once, in May 2006 and didn't see the need to go back as there were so many other restaurants we hadn't yet tried.

For our trip this summer, we've got lots of "new" places planned, but DH has already said that we MUST eat at Yachtsman again.

My favorite was Le Cellier without a doubt. We did eat at Yachtmans and my 17 year old son said it was his best meal ever. He had the swordfish I think there. Anyway, he loved it so much that he wants his rehearsal dinner there when he gets married. The rest of our party liked both and picked Boma and Spirit of Aloha as their favorites. If TS credits are not an issue, I would choose Yachtmans as you can always do Le Cellier another time.

we eat at LeCellier every year... the change in menu was disheartening. I loved the Maple BBQ Fillet - now I order the mushroom fillet with no mushrooms, swap the risotta for potatoes... :sad2: and its just a plain (I could make it better) Fillet - the quality of the fillets are hit and miss (I've read a couple of reviews on the Dining Review board where each orders a fillet, one is good, the other stringy... that's been our experience!) Our Coral Reef fillet was better than LeCellier!

but I do love the bread and soup! But lately the atmosphere is crowded, with whiney diners (one lady demanded her two reservations be linked and she went so far as to ask a couple to hurry up and finish so we can push your table to these tables and my party can sit together! :scared1: and they did!)

Yachtsman on the other hand... its a quality 2TS place, and they know it. The chefs there are on - its a quieter place (when we've been there, less children) and they have roasted garlic for their breads! so we're heading back to Yachtsman!

Thank you all!! See, I knew I could count on my Dis-er friends! :grouphug:

I've sent the link to this thread to my DH, gotta make sure he agrees before I go changing plans on him. :goodvibes
